A known asshole? Why? Because he keeps to himself, he doesn't like the media all up in his business? Because he doesn't make friends easy? No arguments on the adulterer thing though, it is still disgusting.
Eh who the fuck am I kidding, I've said it in the past plenty of times, I don't respect Kobe off the court. I'd do this trade.
Uh...i just listed the reasons...Good reasons...but sure add those reasons too. 14 years in the league and there has never been any mention of any true friends Kobe has....there is something wrong with that picture too.
Lebron to me is basically the exact opposite of Kobe IMO. The anit-Kobe in some respects. Have I ever seen Kobe be an ass towards his teammates? Yes. Im not claiming that he is perfect, but I think he demands a level of perfection from them. His approach to the game is very focused and serious. I respect that. I do have a lack of respect for Lebron because of his approach. I dont like the dancing and rapping and 15 step hand shakes he has with each of his teammates. The picture taking before that games and all of the theatrics that he is involved with. You might say he's just having a good time and all that but it screams "LOOK AT ME!" in my opinion. He craves attention and that is something that I dislike in people. The NY Style Kicks every time he plays at MSG and all that garbage. It's just too much to me. When Kobe pops his jersey or gets fired up in a game it feels real to me for a lack of better words. Lebron's emotions are so manufactured and forced. He literally looks at the crowd or celebrates after every and1 or spectacular play he makes while Kobe most of the time is stone cold and focused. Keep in mind that I never said that Kobe never celebrates or looks to the crowd for approval. Lebron James is all about to spotlight in my opinion. I just dont care for him for this reason and many others. It has nothing to do with the fact that he challenges Kobe for the title of the games greatest player.
Wow...I think the exact opposite...Sure Lebron could act more serious but I think that is Lebron just being Lebron. Its who he is...he gets jacked up playing bball in front of 20,000 people. Ive always thought Kobe was trying to act cool. They show him with the Olympic team or whatnot and he just has this outsider vibe, like he is just joking around with the guys for the benefit of the camera and his image. Anything besides bball questions looked forced as hell coming out of Kobe. The NBA is entertainment, and a sport. Lebron embraces that. Kobe is the biggest competitor and just cares about the bball side. He could still only care about that side without coming off as a complete asshole.
Everyone thought Tiger Woods was a saint at one time. Kobe has plenty of friends and a majority of his peers look up to him. Melo, Ariza, Butler, and Artest to name a few. Kobe is the typical Type A personality and those types generally aren't the most amicable of people. His selfishness for lack of a better word is what has made him great and successful. You can always be great and successful without being an asshole, but Kobe doesn't know better and he's probably never going to change at this point in his life. I think LeBron is also phenomenal, but I don't think he has the same drive to be great as Kobe does. LeBron was born into a freakish body and has always used it to dominate on the court. Kobe wasn't blessed with the body of Karl Malone and the athleticism of a guard, he's had to work hard to be the player his is today. LeBron strikes me as one of those players who wins a title once and doesn't ever get back after he's accomplished that goal (if he ever does.)
DaRizzle, I'd just like to add two things: 1. As a member of a family filled with athletes (including 1 currently in the NFL, others in pro sports outside North America), i'd just like to add that about 80% (pulled that number outta my ass, but i can guarantee you, it is that high) of players (in every pro sport) have cheated or cheat on their spouses. Hating on a player for that reason is stupid cause then it would mean that you would hate just about every player :S 2. Kobe is still better than Lebron. But now, it's so goddamn close.
And honestly, I personally believe Kobe's been misunderstood by the media for so long, thanks to Shaq. But like others have said, people took shots at him when his career was at a low. The only thing i really don't like about Kobe is his sense of entitlement.
I'll never respect Kobe off of the court because of the whole cheating scandal and then paying his wife off with a diamond. She is just as much of a bitch as he is, though.
I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of Americans cheated whether it be their spouse, girlfriend, or boyfriend. I read in Souther California the divorce rate is 70%.
No I think it's probably higher people in SoCal just don't have patience and there's a lot more fish in the sea.
Especially with athletes, guys who are physically fit with (some) fame, and tons of money, you dont think that pussy isn't being thrown at them left and right all the time on the road? Yeah, i'd venture to say that 90% of athletes cheat.
