Sending Clyde Drexler to the Rockets for Otis Thorpe. At the time, I really thought Otis would put us over the top.

I didn't. I thought it would send us to 10 straight years of no playoffs. Thankfully, it turned out to only be 5.

Easily Pippen and Smith. Bringing in a guy who was on Dream Team I & II (Pip) and another guy who was on Dream Team II (Smith) made us heavy favorites to win a title. It's funny, I remember nobody was even worried about the Lakers before that season. Before PJ, they could never break through - perennial "also rans". The Blazers finished 4 games ahead of the Lakers the year before and went to the conference semi's WITHOUT Pippen and Smith! No way were the Lakers going to be better than us. The teams we compared ourselves to going into the season were San Antonio & Utah.

That was the most excited I've ever been about our team.

Nothing comes close to landing the #1 pick. Nothing.

    Sheed & Pippen were massive.

Personally, I was really excited when we landed Rod Strickland and also when we got Stacey Augmon.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
My parents came to the US from India. As a kid, I grew up reading the children's books that they had loved as kids and thus introduced me to, by a British author named Enid Blyton. So from the time I started reading, til at least 10, I was reading British spellings. Even though all my schooling has been American, that still affects my writing.

    PIPPEN!

That was my favorite trade at the time and still is. I remember hearing some casual fans bitching about it, I couldn't believe it. That was a slam dunk.

I do really like this Camby trade though!

You seemed the most excited you've ever been in your life by the Randolph trade.

    Not happy-excited...but pretty excited...! ;)

For fun, I'll play the opposite game - which trade/transaction got me least excited.

The Harvey Grant transaction. When a guy starts talking about Championships during
his press conference ("like his brother") when he'd never gotten out of the 1st round,
I knew trouble was coming - and it did.
