I think we're better equipped to handle them with Camby and without Brewer, but it's still going to be a difficult game. It's my hope that Brandon doesn't play. If he does, Sloan is a smart enough coach to exploit his inability/unwillingness to make sudden moves on defense to get an open shot. I want to see us go long--Batum, LMA and Camby in the frontcourt. I want to see Webs and Rudy at the two and Andre and Bayless at the point. When Millsap comes in the game, I want to see a heavy dose of physical fouls from Pendergraph and Howard. Beat the shit out of him.
It has been the theme that after a really bad loss where we didn't play with any energy, that we come out playing much better the next game.
As in "I am pretty confident", or as in "if the Blazers lose, I will appear at Pioneer Place at high noon and let a homeless guy shave my entire body" ???
the game reminds me of the okc game where we came out flat after a bad laker loss. also we have now dropped 3 of the last 4 home games
I don't feel very confident going into this game. Utah has just murdered us 3 straight times - shooting 60% in all 3 games. They have our number this season. That said, I like our chances to have a pretty good road trip.
It wouldn't surprise me. Every time the Blazers look like they're on their least legs they always seem to come out the next game and come up with a big W. They simply will not quit.
That's exactly my stance.....coupled with the fact that Camby, with a couple more practices under his belt, probably wants to prove his worth in front of our fans prior to the upcoming road trip. For whatever reason, I feel his helping style lends itself to defending against Sloan's system.
We will see how they respond, but why is it that the Blazers only play well the game after getting their ass chewed out by the veterans on the team? Half the problem right now is the lack of effort and the lackadaisical play.
It does look that way, doesn't it? Not that they don't play hard, but there are just too many lapses. I watched the Boston game today (DVR) and one thing that stood out is that they play defense for 24 seconds every possession. We don't do that, and I don't know why that is.
