Crazy. We used to be this young exciting team. Now we have vets and injured players. Look, I'm rooting for Camby, but Travis was a really fun player. Young, exciting, athletic, clutch. He's STILL only 24. And he was up and coming. Now he and Blake are gone, Oden's hurt, Roy's hurt, and Webs/Nic/Rudy are too inconsistent to get excited about.

I really miss watching Travis ignoring pressure in the 4th quarter and jumping high and drilling those jump shots when the game was on the line. It was fun. He was good for some exciting dunks and blocks too. And the team and crowd fed off of it.

Like I said, though, I'm rooting for Camby. I have no choice! He was Amazing in the 99 playoffs but wow, that was 11 years ago.

I guess it was not too long after you said we could win a ring this year without Oden and Joel...

I think that's really what it comes down too. Travis was even more inconsistent than those three. In the Houston series he was cold and totally worthless to the team. If Camby, Miller or Howard are missing jumpers they can still help the team in other areas. If Travis' jumper isn't falling he's a major liability.

But after that Boston game I'm going to have to reserve my opinion for a bit because it's easy to overreact. Shouldn't get too high on ourselves when we blow someone out or two low on ourselves when a very good team blows us out.

Why is it disturbing. It was fully expected. If you actually have a realistic view of what is expected, then it doesn't bother you so much.

KS, this season is lost. It doesn't matter that we're getting everyone back. It's too late to get into a rhythm. This team hasn't had the chance to develop chemistry. Just say "fuck it" and enjoy the last 26 regular season games. If we make the playoffs, it's gravy. If not, you just chalk it up to a bad run of luck.

If as you say this season is lost with or without Camby, and if Camby does not fit on this team next season (or does not want to) then we shouldn't have traded for him. My criteria for a good trade was one that provided a long term benefit. I understand the thinking that we might not make the playoffs without him, and I agree the playoff experience would be a huge benefit, but if he doesn't play better defense than he did last night (his defense was generally horrible) and if we still don't get to the playoffs, trading for him was a mistake. I still have my fingers crossed though. Go Blazers!

The time when this team was unwatchable was when we had nearly everyone healthy (Roy, Oden, and Pryzbilla) and got our asses kicked to teams like Memphis and Golden State. That team, whether it was chemistry issues or not, was not fun to watch because of people like Blake starting at the beginning of the year when he shouldn't have, and Roy not looking like Roy in the earlier season. Oden was the only positive thing in that fiasco until he got hurt. This team now can be disappointing and I hate how they just let Rondo and whoever else blow right by them to get an easy lay-up. It is like they didn't even try to present a challenge.

Um-watchable?! That is a little much, no? I mean, it is not easy at times. But some games your like damn, it's good to be a Blazer.

We had Blake then and we knew Outlaw would be coming back before the playoffs. New team now. I hope we win the title this year but it's depressing suddenly seeing so many old guys.

How was it expected?? We took the Celtics to OT in Boston without Roy or Camby. I expected us to play better. Especially at home. Camby's an upgrade, right?

The team took Boston to OT w/o Travis and with Steve going for 5 points, 1 rb and 0 ast.

Are you trying to make the case that adding a top flight rebounder made the team worse, just because he makes the team collectively a little older? We lost the game because the only players that showed up were Bayless, Dre and LMA. And of those guys, JB is the only one that played a lick of defense. You play like that against a legit contender and you look old and crappy.

    Go Blazers

No. Clearly Jeff Pendergraph is the best option for the next 25 games.
