All I know is that tonight's Utah performance was vintage Jerry Sloan basketball; interior passes are crisp, his teams always play hard and if I didn't hate the Jazz so much I'd probably enjoy watching them play on a nightly basis. Sadly, tonight's second half was the worst of vintage Nate ball -- too much standing around, too many isos, too many contested jumpers, telegraphed offense into the teeth of a set D and an unfortunate result.

Sloans system is just amazing and a lot of fun to watch. Its just harder to appreciate it when its ripping my team apart lol. I can only imagine how many wins he could have had if he wasnt so damned loyal (after the Stockton/Malone years I mean)

No facade needed. You're just a whiny, fairweather kid.

    OK, that's tonight's excuse.

What about the other blown 4th quarter leads. The Memphis game was with a healthy, pre-injury Roy. The Hornets game was without Roy. In all three cases, the Blazers absolutely could not score when it mattered. In all cases, they went to Nate's predictable, offense that winds the shot clock down, runs an iso starting with 6 - 8 on the shot clock, and forces up a bad shot, heavily contested as the shot clock is about to expire. Against Memphis is was Roy and Bayless running the isos. Against the Hornets is was Miller isolated against Collison. Tonight, it was back to Roy. In all cases, it failed miserably.

What is that saying about insanity? Something about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Makes me wonder, is out coach insane?

That's right, because everything would have remained static. Do you remember the 76-77 season? I do. Shitloads of chemistry problems at the beginning of the season. They worked themselves out pretty well, though.

It's simple, but effective. Nate's system is half that. It's simple, but ineffective.

"Nate decided to try to get Roy out of his funk tonight by feeding him the ball and running the offense through him"

Sounds like an excuse for poor play calling to me.

Well, I've seen you bitching and moaning all night. That's all I need to know. You like OKC so much? You want to follow them? Oklahoma has an OSU that's black and orange as well. Good luck in tweaker town.
