Web's intangibles are a solid addition to this team. And he was sick the other night, cut some slack, bro.

Once again, Webster looked pathetic against the Jazz. But hey, he's got potential!!!

Blazers built their 25 point lead (from 10) while he was in the game!

He went out and they were up by 19...then it turned......

It does appear the team really only tries to get either LaMarcus or Brandon open looks with other guys getting looks at random based on what those two guys do.

That randomness may very well have a lot to do with the up and down play of the other guys on the team.

Though it could very well be the other guys are inconsistent which is why they don't get any set touches.

Chicken and Egg situation. I wonder which is the cause of the other.

People can quote stats of whatever they want to say what they want. The only stat that matters to me is, are the Blazers winning, and do I see areas they can improve that would change their wins in a positive fashion. The reason why? Because if these players that are being lauded for their +/- or their "PER" were actually getting it done, we wouldn't be losing. There is getting it done, and not getting it done. Right now many players on this team are not getting it done. Not just Webster. Not just our younger players. Andre Miller. Brandon Roy. Lamarcus Aldridge. All of them are not getting it done. All of them are failing at some level.

They look like a team that hasn't practiced for real in weeks. They also look like a team that isn't paying attention to film.

Well said. I think the Rose Garden crowd knows it too. Against LA and against Boston, it seemed to me like the crowd knew they were not getting the effort, and they were not giving their full backing because of it. Right now we are only getting a quarter or two of effort at best. Guys are coming out and scoring and being active for a quarter or so, and then you neve hear from them the rest of the game.

I can't figure this team out. Take away our star players, and we play great. Put them back in the lineup (and draft a guy like Marcus Camby) and we start playing like crap. What gives?

    It's maddening.

sorta shows ya that teamwork and having all players involved and interested is > the Roy ISO offense. Plainly and "painfully" obvious to me

Excellent point. So here's the $64,000 question: why can't Roy play the same style of game that everybody was playing when he was out?

I've been slow to turn on McMillan, but I have been turning. Honestly, I blame him. I don't watch enough of LAL and really analyze them to know how they use Kobe. My only context, mainly, is when the Blazers play them and again I'm not really looking at LA strategy at that point.

But I don't think that Roy is in any way incapable of sharing/playing more up tempo/not being 100% of the offense when he's on the court. At least the lion's share of that has to be on McMillan. And from what I saw last night, either

    1. Nate's telling them the right things, but the guys have completely tuned out Nate.
    2. Nate's not telling them the right things.

Because you have to realize that your 25 point lead is now 15 and what you are currently doing isn't working and changes need to be made. I saw none of that last night.

I can not believe that Nate was calling for motion and dynamic offense, and Brandon said screw that, I need to touch the ball every time.
