Yes Harris was fine in the second half and OT but in the first half had a slow start. He was quick but not quick enough for Parker. Parker has been embarrassing point guards on defense all year and Harris and Livingston are probably the 2 guards that I think have done the best on Parker. Bell and Barbosa did well also. Parker in the past has had his way with Nash in the playoffs. The suns were forced to put Joe Johnson on Parker last year.
Good news for Mavs fans tonight, Danny Crawford is not the referee, he is doing the Pistons game. For those who don't know, our record is below .500 when Crawford referees.
Good news Rok...Not that it'll really matter that much anyways, the game is in SA, and they'll get most of the calls anyways.
Spurs won by a point so they extend the series to a 6th game. Manu made some clutch plays during the stretch. It was a nice game by both teams.
Well that sucks, now we have the pressure in game 6 at home. We better come out of this series winners. We played a bad 1st quarter and were in the game most of the way, just played behind too much, that stretch Spurs had, the 13-2 run really hurt us and foul trouble again. I think Harris has Daniels/Howard rookie syndrome where they missed layups . I think two key plays really hurt us with less then a minute, when Manu stripped Terry, then again stripping Dirk. Two plays we could have took the lead on. Also, I think mavsfan should retract about Harris shutting down Parker.
^He should. But seriously, would it be selfish of me to want this series over, in blowout game 6 fashion, and deprive the world of a great 7 game series?
If this goes to game 7, it falls into the Spurs' hands and our chances diminish. We would go from 3-1 to basically 1 game elimination with Spurs having the advantage of homecourt and no pressure. Game 6 is a must, or I see Spurs advancing. If only Dirk had better position on that putback, ahhh, can't feel much worse then what Pistons fans are though.
I think game 7 would be pressure on both sides, even the Spurs...the difference is that they have home court. But then again, the Mavs have played well in SA...so I wouldn't take it as a loss.
The mavs just blew an opportunity to win this series. The spurs will make the mavs pay. Expect it to go 7 now.
Jason Terry has been suspended for punching Finley, not very good news if your a Mavs fan although i'm sure Devin can do a fine job.
Relax, even without Jason Terry, i don't think the spurs have the man power (not the best phrase but whatever) to take the mavs down 2 games in a row before mavs win 1.
Terry out changes the whole game now. Terry has been a second option this season, since the loss of Finley. The Mavs will have to exicute the whole ball game diffrent now. Howard will need to play like he played eariler in the series, and Dev should play like he has been, we need both of their abilities to get in the paint because without Terrys shooting, something elce on the court needs to take over.I know Im pretty pissed about Terry being out in game 6. But I wouldnt blame it all on Stern. Idk what they are called, but there is a set staff that reviews it, kinda like a jury. Stern just puts the final word in
It does seem strange the series of events that are going on.The Spurs win game 5 by 1 point, and now force a game six, with the Mavs without one of thier top 3 players...But then agian the Cavs can beat the Pistons without Hughes, so it can't be that big of a loss. And he did throw a punch, so he did get the right punishment. But I do want to say that Parker and Popovitch have lost tons of respect from me.Parker says "He got what he deserves, he's been throwing lots of punches, and got me at least twice, with cheap shots."Popovich says "I guess he's really embarrassed right now" and "He shouldn't play".Compare that to Phil Jackson saying that he wanted Bell to play after the whole chokeline incident, and saying that he didn't want to give the Suns any excuses as to why they lost, and he wanted to beat the Suns full strength...Pop, who's always been classy, just did the exact opposite.Tony P, he's crying about physical play...a Spur is crying about another player getting physical. That's like Ginobli complaining about a guy flopping, it's hypocritical. But enough about that, Terry did deserve a suspension, and I hope the Mavs win in spite of it.
The Spurs will win th series now after the Mavs lost their chance to wrap it up at home. I just don't see any team winning a game 7 away. Homecourt advantage is so nice to have speaking from my point of view.
Dirk, what the hell was that?A 6th grader could've taken a better shot then that. Now game 7 in San Antonio,Dallas is in a tight spot and can hopefully get there act together and tough it out in game 7.Just bad execution in the 4th quarter on this game, this is why Jason Terry is a big part of this team.
I know, Dirk gets 26 points, 21 rebounds, and 5 assist...and what do that Mavs do?Take 2 really bad 3's to end the game...A bad night from Harris, and only 10 and 8 points from KVH and Marquis combined...It all equals a loss. The Mavs really needed one of those 3 guys to get the win...and of course they didn't get it.Oh and Stack getting 10 points didn't help either...I guess not having Terry hurt more than we thought.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pistonz4life @ May 19 2006, 10:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The Spurs will win th series now after the Mavs lost their chance to wrap it up at home. Avery cost us this game. Stackhouse was killing Dallas and Avery kept him in the game. Why not Adrian Griffin more? bullsh** Avery you Brickhouse lover.
