Yes, this is out of left field.

OJ Mayo was apparently available at the deadline.

He has a nice mid-range game and a decent three point shooter (nearly 40% this season)

I think KP's had enough time to evaluate this roster and it's time to fine tune this team.

    Hell. Fuck. No.

total headcase, bends the rules (USC got owned). He's an egomaniac going to bolt for a major market his first chance he gets.

He's been anything but a headcase since coming into the NBA.

He will be. The guy just rubs me the wrong way (no homo). Just always has...dunno, just the way he butted heads and basically made Tim (Pink) Flloyd his bitch....just doesn't seem like a guy I'd like on the Blazers...besides, what....he's a backup PG to Dre?

I would go out on a limb and say 80% of high profile college players get paid. I would offer Rudy+Picks and Cash in a heartbeat. This kid is going to be good.

He had an entertainment agent before he went to SC worrying about his "branding" and "image"..

Yeah but I'll bet that if he was 'our' asshole people would warm up to him pretty quick. Egotists are fine, shit talkers are fine too, guys who are egotists and shit talkers who don't get into trouble with the law, but kill people on the court are evern finer.

I don't see many avenues to getting him, but if he were here he'd probably fit in next to Roy like hand-in-glove on offense (decent distributor, lights out shooter, can probably guard most 1s, and those that he can't could probably be covered by Nic).

I've just never envisioned that guy to be in a small market team after his rookie contract was up. I really think he will bolt to NYC/MIA/CHICAGO/LA.

Hence my aprehension to him. He basically stayed in LA at USC so he could be close to Hollywood. To me, he's more flash than substance.

You guys seem him pull a Blake tonight?

My left field idea for the summer is to get an exorcist out to the RG and attempt to appease the ghosts that are haunting our centers.

He was a hype machine coming out of college. He really hasn't done much in the NBA. A case could be made that Minnesota got the better end in that deal.

They would hang up. They don't need cash. They were willing to take on Monta Ellis' contract.

It would take AT LEAST Batum, Rudy/Bayless and picks. I would do it. He's already an excellent scorer in his 2nd year.

Not much? As a sophomore he's dropping 18 pts/4 rbs/3 ast! He's already the player that some delusional fans thinks Bayless or Rudy could be. But he actually has the tools and talent to get it done.

I never compared him to Bayless or Rudy. I'm saying that he hasn't lived up to the hype that was surrounding him coming into the NBA. He was getting Lebron type hype.

Coming into the NBA? Maybe coming out of high school, but after his lone season at USC most predictions of future success had been revised downward quite a bit.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Yup. I still liked him and hoped Pritchard would make a move high enough to get him, but I was pretty pleased with getting Bayless too. IMO, there wasn't a lot separating Mayo, Bayless and Westbrook...which I think was reflected in how volatile their stocks were in the months leading up to the draft.

Exactamundo. The only difference between the 3 so far, is the playing time they have got to tune their game. 2 guys have got major minutes, 1 guy has not.
