Wow, seems so hard to believe. Especially considering all they've gone through with Boozer (his status, the fans, etc.) issues, then the D-Williams comments (re: Brewer, Management's lack of support, etc.) following the trade deadline, etc.

IMO, Jerry Sloan is the best coach in the NBA.

ABM did you forget to do your homework?
Utah was 1-3 in the series against Denver and it wasn't until the last game that they won.
    Denver owns the tie breaker.

I'm just saying that they're currently only one game back...while also being the hottest team in the NBA.

They may win this thing going away.

Even without Oden, I would argue that we have at least as much talent as they do. It's amazing how much running plays works! Nate should try it, instead of having the guys play hot potato at the end of the shot clock.

They execute both running and half court sets. That is why they are tough, they are a well rounded team. They are efficient and they rebound well. If there is any weakeness, it is that they don't have a lot of size on the inside for defense.

Boozer pushes LMA and/or Howard around like rag dolls. Millsap tidily cleans up the messes.

They do but they don't block shots or effect shots. Also I wasn't just comparing them to the Blazers, I was comparing them to the whole league. The Blazers have their own issues to deal with.

Agreed. Utah is always near the top of the league when it comes to execution - thanks to their coach.

I read an article several years ago with Sloan. In that article he was the anti-Nate. In that article he said he hates ISO's, players standing around on offense and on defense, he liked to pressure the ball. How can we have one for the best young coaches when he is the exact opposite of the best coach?

How is hard believe? Utah had won the division 3 straight years before last year, and were really hurt last year. This team is moderately young, and is starting to mature where they are more consistent on the road than previous years.

Jerry Sloan isn't the best coach in the NBA, his rotations are whack and he fails to make adjustments when needed most of the time. For example, this year Memo has been horrid while Fesenko has been a real difference maker. Yet Fes can't even get on the court unless Okur is hurt/out. Sloan also doesn't know what a timeout is most of the time. But he starting to watching game tape for the first time this year, that is a breakthrough considering he went off of scouting reports and previous games in the past. But all in all, Sloan is a top 5 coach right now and deserves to get COY once before he retires.

Who cares. Unless Oden is back by then, 3rd place and beyond is all the folks who failed.
