Mon Mothma was the leader of the Rebel Alliance though... This is a cool idea. However, even if the school and alumni weren't so terribly old and (little 'c') conservative, I doubt this could happen. Since Admiral Akbar is LucasFilms intellectual property, wouldn't it be an IP violation for a school (or pro team) to use the image to represent themselves?
U of O uses Donald Duck. If LucasFilm agrees to it and the price isn't too high Ole Miss could have Ackbar as a mascot. Wouldn't George Lucas do it? Probably not. But Walt Disney did with the Ducks so anything is possible.
I saw this the other day and I think its awesome. Also, the student body president sounds like an alumni mouthpiece. The students want Ackbar.
