    Sorry that I made light of it. I just checked and it's on CNN. It happened 3 hours ago. They mention only the coastal cities that felt it, so I surmise that it was centered offshore.

    It's amazing how many of the biggest recorded earthquakes hit Chile. It's the spot to go if you want to surf the really big ground waves.
