Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? What team do you think will never get it's young talent together and form an elite team?
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? I think all four of these teams are far from being elite teams, but just taking into account ATL's history, you have to say that they are going to be the most likely to screw it all up.
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? I agree with Big Mo, Atlanta won't because their history will be hard to get past. But I also think that all these teams have a long way to go to become very good or elite teams.
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? Ill say Celtics. Sorry Dogmatist, but no one on that young squad jumps out at me as a future all star. They all seem to be solid role players in the future to me. I think they will have to trade maybe Tony Allen and Delonte West to get some more veteran talent because I dont see it working. Guys like Gomes will be good players but they wont be stars in any means.
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? Its close between Hawks and Celtics. The Magic definitely will have a young, and good future core with Nelson, Howard, and Milicic. The Bucks have their young talent working right now, I thought. I agree with CB4. I just dont think any of them will be 'stars'. Gerald Green might be a 16 ppg scorer, but I think thats it. Delonte will be a solid PG all his career. Gomes will be a decent SF, Perkins wont change, and Jefferson will make some improvement in his game. It all depends how they develop them, you just cant screw it up if they have talent in the first place.

He has some of the best low post game i've seen in a young player. When was the last time you saw a rookie with as polished low posts moves as Big Al? i've never seen it.And as for Gerald Green, he has all the pieces, he just needs something to click upstairs. He has the athleticism, the jumpshot, the instinct, the confidence to be an all-star. He just needs some finishing touches. He needs to work on ball handling and his defensive rotation. His one-on-one defense is underrated. He has a very important component that is almost missing from today's game: a mid range game. He can score from literally everywhere on the court, and now he has an ideal mentor in Pierce.Delonte is capable of 18 ppg in his prime, but it's not only scoring that he brings. He's a leader. He plays with passion and it's contagious. He gives 100% on both ends and he leaves it all on the floor. He helps spread the floor, he's smart with the ball, and he's turning into a very good playmaker.Tony Allen, if he can stay healthy and out of trouble, will be the missing piece to the core. He is an absolute lock down defender, and his aggressiveness on both ends is huge. He is fearless taking it to the basket. He can defend almost any guard in the league well. If he can improve his ballhandling and decision making, he'll be a hell of a player.Gomes is the dirty work guy. I don't really need to go into detail about him.Kendrick Perkins is an absolute beast underneath the basket. I can see him pulling down 12 rpg in his prime, with about 3 bspg to boot. One thing about their young core: they have a future at every position. Not only that, but each role will be filled. They have shooters, slashers, defenders, scorers, passers, rebounders, blue collar guys, everthing. And i can understand someone saying that the future won't work out in Boston, but as the example? no. I would pick them to have a brighter future then some of these other teams, and that's not just being a homer.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zards @ May 6 2006, 11:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Its close between Hawks and Celtics. Please.TJ Ford, Andrew Bogut vs. Delonte West, Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Tony Allen, Ryan Gomes, Kendrick Perkins. Not even close.
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? Actually i would say that the Bucks do have as bright, or a brighter future ahead of them, than the Celtics. For one this team is already developing good team chemistry now and playing very good ball. With time this team will only get better team chemistry. There are more good young players on the Bucks than just T.J. Ford and Andruw Bogut. Charlie Bell, Michael Redd, and Mo Williams can all be added to this list. Michael Redd has only been in the league five years and still hase many years with the Bucks left in him. He is the best shooter and offensive player out of either one of these teams, and will continue to be as long as he is on the court. Andrew Bogut inside is a nice presence inside that can pass, shoot well for a big man, and grap rebounds. Mo Williams and Charlie Bell are both good young guards that can take over at any time for the Bucks.
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? Michael Redd and Charlie Bell can't be added to this list. Charlie is 28 and Redd is almost 28. I don't think that qualifies as "youth"And Paul Pierce is a better offensive player than Michael Redd. The bucks have a future at PG and C. Yes, that is a good foundation, but they haven't built off of that. They have no one on the wings. The way i see it is that the Celtics have all the pieces, they just need to figure out how to put them together.

Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? i'm surprised nobody was talking smack about the knicks young talent. i think they have great young talent but like 99% of this forum hates the knicks so i was expecting to see something. i guess that's a good thing for my boys :happy0144:
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? The Knicks don't have great talent, give me a break.
Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? well, i think the foru to choose frome wer ATL, boston, Milwuakee and Orlando.Don't worry, i'd pick the knicks to fail over any of these teams. :winkglasses:

Re: What teams won't make the young talent work? I'm not saying they won't be good, they just aren't great talents.
