Come on, you remember Ed back then. "Just win, baby." was like his mantra. He didn't care about chemistry or personalities, as long as we won.
Absolutely. Winning (and the prospect of winning in the future) is just about all that matters to me. I have Northwestern to root for if I want mediocrity in sports (and that's OK... we have other things going for us there... ) Ed O.
You want memories? http://209.157.64.200/focus/f-news/1038515/posts <----- CTC piece by Geoffrey Arnold.
Haha... I put that in there as a catch-all. It's actually all net present value in terms of wins... if we get a murderer, for example, who helps us win this year and then goes to prison forever, setting the franchise back, then I'd prefer a solid citizen who would help the team over the next seven or eight years. While it's about NPV of wins for me, the equation in my head changes... a moving target in terms of a discount rate Ed O.
I was amazed at the melee that erupted after Wallace hit the game winner. Drinks, trash, and spit rained down on Blazer players/coaches as they left the court. The local W's broadcast focused in on one female fan who repeatedly spat down on Blazer players entering the tunnel. Warrior broadcasters pointed their blaming fingers at Portland's players for instigating matters because... well, who needs a reason beyond the game-winner? The fans are pissed and they're the Jailblazers so the paying customers are entitled to do what ever the fuck they want... who in their right mind argues with an upset Oakland? Somehow Mills and his gangster associates weren't held accountable by the league for holding the Blazer bus hostage for over an hour waiting on their demands that Mills fight Bonzi. STOMP
Damn right. As long as I stay off the off-topic board, I agree with Ed O on almost everything I see him write. Bring back Bob!!!
Still one of my all time favorites. I'm like an battered housewife when it comes to Raw. No matter what he did I still loved him. I probably still do.
