One thing Portland needs to do more is embrace its historical roots, which is one of the reasons I like Vancouver so much. They embrace their heritage all over the place...Portland should have more Oregon Trail-related attractions and design sense.
Uhm. Go 15 miles any direction from Portland and you'll get all the Oregon "heritage" you'll ever want.
I'm talking about the downtown core of the city. You want visitors to have a sense to the origins of Portland, not that it has a pretty Rose Garden and a nice waterfront. Go to Vancouver, you'll see a lot of promotional materials and heritage type of merchandies worked into the city landscape. Those totum poles, going to granville island, arts and crafts, etc.
The thing about Portland, its mostly known for the bizarre people that live there and their strip clubs.
You don't know the first thing about the 'Couv, Jackson. Not to mention, your incessant rants based upon frivolous speculation and innuendos.
You can't be goobers. I should know, I'm the head of the local goober 519, and you're never at the meetings.

Well, maybe we kin teach ya. Step 1. Find a photo on the web that you want to post. I'm going to choose one from this thread, just to make things obvious. Step 2. Go to that web page and right-click (click the right mouse button, the mouse is that mouse-shaped thing with the tail coming out it's nose) on the picture. This (in firefox - if you are using some other browser let us know and we'll provide instructions for that instead) brings up a little menu, one of the choices is "copy image location". Choose that option. Step 3. Go back to S2 and start writing a post. Click the icon above the text box that looks like a mountain with yellow sky and a square black sun. That brings up a dialog box asking you for the address of your pic. Paste the address you copied into that. That will insert some code into your post that looks like this (except that I changed IMG to JMG so that I could show you the code): [JMG]http://search.tacomapubliclibrary.org/images2/45/t1/13707.jpg[/IMG] If I don't change the IMG tag, then it looks like this: There are no doubt other ways to achieve the same result, that's just what I do. hope this helps. barfo
