Kobe's been playing with a broken finger all season long. Shaq breaks his thumb and is on the shelf for TWO MONTHS!
wtf there must be some misinterpretation from the reports, we all know Shaq is a warrior who loves the game of basketball and will do anything to help his team win a championship link please.
Kobe's also still playing with a mangled pinkie, as well as an ankle that's still not quite 100%. Shaq's a wimp. Good thing the Cavs don't need him right now since it's not the postseason. They're going to coast to that top seed and pull another choke job when they have to play Boston, Detroit or Atlanta.
Really? You can't grip or shoot a ball without a working thumb. But I see this is just a thread to talk about how awesome Kobe is and what a wuss Shaq is, so nevermind.
I agree. Though I think Kobe's case wasn't that bad and he could fight through it..why not if he manages to get back to where he was.
You guys act as though Kobe decided to play with his injured fingers. Obviously the team doctor cleared him to play, do you really think they'd risk further injury? I don't even know anything about basketball but this is obvious.
Shaq > Kobe. You could fit 2 Kobe's inside Shaq. I think thumb injury is hard to play with because you really rely on it to control the ball, especially when shooting. I've broken most of my fingers (but not thumbs) and was able to play without being hindered by it at all. I had the splint on the top of my hand so my fingertips could still touch the ball, and it was fine. Or two fingers taped together and you can still have a nice feel of the ball. Hinrich has missed a number of games the past two seasons with injuries to both thumbs.
You mean how he tore his finger ligament last year, and now its permanently cockeyed now...yup obviously Kobe has no say
This guy plays with just one arm, and he's not even black: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlE0MGddLHU
holy s*it, guys like him make you wonder why aren't you working harder or making more effort on whatever you're doing.
