I have access to a legal iso image of Windows 7 ultimate. Does anyone know if I can just run that program from the image download itself, or do I need to burn it to a DVD?

Also, has anyone else upgraded from Vista? If so, have you faced any issues with the upgrade? Because I've read that people recommend a fresh install always, but can't imagine what the differences would be.

I upgraded, it went fine until the next time I turned my computer on I had problems. I just re-upgraded it and it worked fine. Idk why it had problems the first

Did all your files and folders remain intact? And, did you install the upgrade from the DVD?

Yup, I didn't lose anything, but I did back it up on an external before just in case. But I didn't lose anything. Yes, I used the dvd. The first question you asked, I can't answer. I have no idea.

You can't upgrade from XP but from Vista everything will be fine.
