My wife and I went walking up near there yesterday and we happened upon it. The views from there are amazing!

I went to their website and, naturally, the prices look steep (not that that would stop me for a special occasion).

However, the happy hour menu looks very promising.

About the food, I'd say the views are really nice.

Actually, food is fine, a little on the bland american side for my taste, but certainly well prepared for what it is.

I think it's a great place to have dinner. I'm assuming you're talking about the one off of Terwilliger. I usually get blackened swordfish when I'm there.

Yep, that be the place! The one with the big totem pole outside. It was closed when we were there yesterday afternoon. I can only imagine that view from one of the front tables, though.

    ABM,
You should try this place. It's kinda a hole in the wall but the food is really good and the owners are very very nice. You get a ton of food for your $$$.

As others have said, great view; decent but not great food...except for the chocolate lava cake dessert. If you're a chocolate lover....mmmmmmmm.

My advice is to skip the dinner and go there for the dessert and the view.

Ive had many a friend that worked there...About two years ago they were bought and the quality of the food the bought went downhill....Charthouses are usually placed where there are great views...but the food is average for what it should be

Just went there. Excellent! Had (take-out) the grilled short ribs, chicken teriyaki, along with the gyoza appetizer.

    Mmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for the recommendation!

Chart House used to be, many years ago - Simon's Hillvilla restaurant

In the 1950s it was renovated as Palaske’s Hillvilla and again in 1980s when it became Chart House.

never eaten there. it seemed like a "ritzy" place growing up, but now that I'm out in the working world, it seems like a gimmick more than anything. There is one like 5 minutes away from me and I never even consider it when dining. too cheeseball.

The Charthouse here in SoCal has a great view of the ocean and is just situated in an amazing spot. Now for the price of the food, you won't get blown away by the taste, but it isn't horrible. But at that price you shouldn't really be settling for taste, you know? Good place to go to though.
