<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AmBitIoNz23 @ May 20 2006, 11:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you not post earlier that LeBron is not the KING. But now that you manage to stave off elimination in a game where LeBron played sub-par, suddenly you have accomplished something amazing by beating a team with one single great player. Again, I may be wrong, theres a lot of Pistons fans on these forums, so it may have been someone else in this or another topic that said something like "I'm sick of people talking about LeBron, hes not the KING."Anyway, my point is the Cavs deserve more credit than your Pistons do, because we won 3 straight against the defending champs, and a game 5 on the road against the best team in basketball, not an average team with the greatest player of our time, and theoretically, a team with 5 stars should beat a team with 1 superstar, 9 times out of 10, but we proved that theory wrong, so we deserve the respect.</div>I said KING to mock the nickname. All of you guys call him that. It is an undeserving title, and IMO he will never truely be the King, until he becomes better than Jordan, which is possible, but he isn't there yet.
OK, I'm tired of the LeBron haters. You people call yourself's basketball fans, yet all you try and do is talk about the negatives of LeBron James. You people say you like basketball, but when a player like LeBron comes around and plays the game the right way, all you talk about is how he plays no defense.LeBron James is an unselfish leader, who is able to score at will. He does not come across as an arrogant prick. I agree, he plays no defense. I agree, he probably won't be MJ. But come on guys, all you people do is try and bring him down. It's absolutely pathetic. He is leading a decent team to a level they shouldn't be on at all. He is doing it with a passion we haven't seen in awhile.Get over it and your bias: LeBron is a top 5 NBA player, by this time next year, he'll be the best player in the NBA. In 7 years time, he'll be a top 5 player ever. If you haven't seen this guy play, if you haven't seen how special he is, stop judging him. 99% of all NBA fans ONLY watch highlights, and short glimpses of games. Some of you people are coming off as ignorant, and are probably part of that select 99%.LeBron James is great. He isn't MJ. Will he be MJ? Only time will tell, but sit back and enjoy the ride while you can. LeBron has made me a believer. I didn't just call him my favorite player cause he scored 81.I didn't call him my favorite player cause everyone else liked him.I didn't jump on his bandwagon of hype 3 years ago and mindlessly attatch myself to it like glue.He has made me a believer, and if his playing has actually made a hater out of you, then you are not even a basketball fan. We are all witnessesAdmit itEnjoy itMarvel at itAccept it
I still dont understand how you can hate Lebron James? He is a classy guy, great player, likes to pass the ball. And even if you dont like him, you better get used to him. Strap on and enjoy the ride, this kid will be dazzling the NBA for another 20 years to come.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Strap on and enjoy the ride, this kid will be dazzling the NBA for another 20 years to come.</div> 20 years? He'll be 41, I don't know if he'll be playing for that long. Though it's not out of the question. My only problem is the new witness campaign they've been doing, it just feels forced with that.
With a player with that kind of talent, I definately think he will be playing until he is 40. Besides, it is an estimation.
I certainly don't hate LeBron as a player, and I don't believe anybody else here does, but what I have a problem with is the media shoving LeBron down our throats 24/7... and THAT is what pisses me off!
I hate LeBron for four main reasons....1. The Media. He gets all of the love from ESPN and other media outlets while teams like the Spurs, Pistons, and Mavs are out playing great team basketball every night, I am not saying he is selfish, but he gets more attention than the true elite teams in the league.2. His undeserving nickname. I hate when people call him "The King", or King James. It makes him seem like he is by far the best thing going in the league, and IMO he is not. Kobe is the best player in the league, and I am not exactly a Lakers fan. As far as I am concerned you cannot be the King until you have a RING.3. His loyal legion of bandwagoners. Not that I want to call anyone out, or dislike anyone because of their choice, but there are so many bandwagon LeBron fans it is insane. People that have a certain favorite team, unless it is the Cavs, and have LeBron as their favorite player are considered bandwagoners.4. He gets calls, that he doesn't deserve. I am not going to sit here and act like there haven't been stupid calls that LeBron has gotten both in the regular season and postseason, because that is a lie. He has gotten stupid ticky tacky calls at crucial times in a game and he doesn't deserve them. He hasn't accomplished enough to get calls over teams like Detroit, San Antonio, or Miami, but he does.
Should be a good game 7,The Palace is a hard place to win the Pistons but I believe the game is a toss up,both teams have been playing equally and with or without home court advantage it should be close.Hopefully the refs don't give LeBron all the calls so that the game is played a bit more fair.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ May 21 2006, 02:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>^And what do any of those have to do with Lebron himself?</div>Nothing.He doesn't hate lebron personally but some outside factors make him hate lebron. You may say it's irrational but that's how it is.I personally agree with what he said but i don't excatly hate lebron because i haven't seen him be a jackass. If he starts being an ***hole i'll hate him.And the refs are disgusting. Everytime lebron goes into the paint the pistons are called for a foul. The refs are biased.
^ That is what I was trying to say. It isn't like LeBron is a bad guy, or acts like a prick out there, but the surounding factors make me dislike him, stupid or not that is the way it is.
This is going to be an exciting game. But I want Detroit to win because the Cavs have no chance of beating Miami. If Detroit goes to the Finals, then it'd be more exciting to watch the two teams go at each other.
Larry Hughes will be playing today, although he hasn't been playing his best basketball he can still do small things for the team while contribtuing on defense and offense also.
LeBron is young and incredibly good. You hate a player because he is being marketed? Makes sense. Again, people call him KING because it is a marketing campaign used by Nike and ESPN. Wait, you hate LeBron because he has made people like him? All All Star players get calls they don't deserve. You act like LeBron is the only wonWow, you can't imagine how much respect I've lost for you. You basically hate LeBron because the NBA is marketing him alot, and he is now being treated like Kobe, TD, and other NBA superstars.
If you are watching the game right now you will understand why I think the refs are BS. Lindsey Hunter just got three little handchecks called on him in thtree minutes, and in the middle of that was run over by LeBron and there was no call. The refs make me hate LeBron, and if you are watching you will see what I mean.
^Couldn't agree with you more. And what about the offensive goaltend that wasn't called on Larry Hughes. It was clearly over the rim. Are the refs blind?
