I think that the solution really is outsourcing medicine in many cases. I'm a believer in medical tourism, and even explored working in the field as a "middle-man". Send people to Thailand and India for major surgery in Westernized facilities. Article seems poorly written though, must be the product of a Canadian education.
In some ways, that's an indictment of how stupid the system in Canada is. People can just wander across the border and get free (or subsidized; it's not clear whether it was free or not) care? How would that sort of efficiency work for the US? Ed O.
Once I started running at the docks in Skagway. Thought I'd go for a little 8 mile run. Well... the city of Skagway is only about 1 mile or so... after that the road heads up Chilcoot pass towards... yeah... Canada. I am not shocked they didn't have a good Dr. there. They don't have anything there. Even now.
great thread title that doesn't come close to accurately representing the article. though honestly it probably should have been expected.
