Heres his piece. I have to agree here. These are the games good teams win. There are no excuses. The thunder whip this team... why cant we? I mean its like, everyone in here loves saying how good and talented we are, and have a "championship window" yet we lose to sh!t teams to often. These next 2 games will tell us a lot about the blazers.

Yes, I know — nine straight Portland losses in Oakland.

But if the Trail Blazers lose this one, I don’t want to hear a word about injuries or any other alibis. This game must be one against an obviously inferior opponent that’s also had its share of injuries. The Blazers should blow them away. Talent level? Not even close.

Look, there are important, tough-to-win games ahead. There is no margin for losing games like this one. And I really can’t imagine it happening, actually.

If Portland doesn’t win this game, folks, the spit is going to hit the fan. That’s all I’m going to say about it. This game is too important to mess around with. And a loss here, I’m afraid, indicates problems deeper than some injuries.

    Doesn’t it?

The fact that you always agree with DJ says it all.

Oh shit - I finally figured it out:

Mixxxedup = Rudy Cee = D. Jaynes illegitimate son!

You had to wonder why he is always quoting a guy many/most consider to be a washed-up, bitter has-been of a reporter . . . then I went to familytree.com and the retarded bloodlines are all clearly spelled out there! It all makes sense now!

edit: I forgot to randomly bold my text so had to do it after the fact. Fixed now.

This is Jaynes just setting up something in advance so he has some kind of story to go on and stir up drama if he has the chance. Fact is, the Blazers are a lock for the playoffs after all they've suffered this year and there's nothing he can do about it.

The Mavs are arguably the best team in the NBA right now....who beat them twice in their house?

    Thanks!

I hate to mention it, but the Lakers lost how many times in the Rose Garden, to vastly inferior Blazer teams?

And how many times did we lose to the Kings in Arco Arena against the lowliest Kings teams of the early 90's, even when we made the NBA Finals?

Some teams have their opponent's number at home.

While it's true they've had our number, he is right - there is no excuse for not winning this game tonight. We need it, the Warriors have nothing to play for. If our players want it, they need to go out there and take it.

Well, look at it this way: if the Blazers happen to lose tonight, all of MIXUM's posts will be shredded by the proverbial rotary implement.

We broke the "lose in Dallas" streak; LA broke the "lose in Portland" streak; Milwaukee broke the "Portland beats all the 'M' teams" streak--it's time for us to end the Oakland streak. Unless Curry and Morrow combine for 50, which wouldn't shock me. Also, I hope someone's scouted this "Reggie Williams" kid, who dropped 28 against NO on Monday in just his 5th NBA game.

Nah the Grizz have no chance. They're not good enough to make up those games.

Only question right for the Blazers is who they will play in the 1st round. If Dallas keeps winning, it could be them, but the Blazers have a real chance to move up in the standings, so who knows.

    @ Den - L
    @ OKC - L

They also play Hou and NO as well.

Stick a fork in 'em, they're done.

People don't like Dwight because he doesn't write the fluff pieces about the Blazers so many crave. Dwight tells it like it is, and more times than not is dead on.

Portland simply DOES need to win games like this. Golden State has won a grand total of 17 games. To put that into perspecive, that is the same total of ROAD games Portland has won. Golden State has lost 5 straight games and has nothing at all to play for. Portland is in the 8th seed for the playoffs, and every game to them is important. There is no excuse not to crush this team, to be honest. I couldn't care less about curses either. This team is better than the Warriors, and needs to show that tonight.

Why? We have to suffer you whining "if the Kings make their shots we lose" after a win. Shit flows down when it goes East just as when it goes West. It's physics.

    Hypocrite.

I actually agree with Jaynes (and MIXEDUP), there should be no excuses for losing in Golden State; if this team is at all serious about holding onto their playoff position, wins against the bottom feeders -- even bottom feeders who have your number in their house -- is a must.
