That's actually exactly why I'm mocking it. All of the shit I have seen here and elsewhere to mock USC, and for recruiting violations, and someone like Bush getting money from an agent, and the amount of times because of that USC has been mocked as a program. But then when players on someone else's program grab women by the throat and throw them into cars, tackle them, get sentenced to 10 days in jail, rob shit, and punch other players, those people defend their program. That's bullshit and hypocritical. Chip probably already decided he wasn't starting Masoli, and so figured getting rid of him was fine. 1 game for James is a joke. And I am certain if Matt Barkley grabsa girl around the neck and pushes her up against his car, for whatever reason, the majority here would mock USC if he only got a one game suspension. Minor recruiting violations by Kiffin get them mocked. Recruiting a 13 year old gets them mocked. But then there is defense of James for assaulting someone. And Chip Kelly suspending him for a meaningless game. 10 days in jail, 1 game suspension.

How is what Blount did so much worse. Because it looked violent? Were you around to watch what James did? Guessing no. So hold the thought on what was violent and what was not. Unless you think just being on television means it deserves losing a scholarship over a 1 game suspension. How violent would it look to someone else to see a football player grab a girl by her throat and push her against his car? Sounds violent to me.

To all of those who think James is getting preferential treatment, I ask you this: just how valuable do you think he is to the Ducks' program? There's no question he's a great back, but if you look at the Ducks' roster, they are absolutely LOADED at his position. I mean suppose James got kicked out of the program...oh darn, I guess this means we have to start #1 RB prospect, 5-star super recruit Lache Seastrunk. There's plenty of other highly touted backs in addition to Seastrunk ready to go as well. If the coaching staff really did get together and try to decide if they should let James off the hook easily, don't you think this factor would've weighed very heavily against making that call?

Zagsfan20, any comments on Oregon's football program? Things aren't so "Rosey" any more for the 20010-2011 season.

My signature is for Zagsfan20 arrogant comment about OS football program, where they have taken their program up and beyond since 2001 and have made great strides with players making the pac-10 first team, into the NFL, etc. Its the OS staff that has made these players play beyond everyone's expectations and they surprise teams in the NFL when they get drafted.

....and Oregon State has been squeaky clean in the recent past? I'm willing to bet that UO will still have a better record at the end of next season.

I laugh at Beaver fans who think they'll be better than the Ducks next year,

It's probably too early for either fanbase to think one team will be better than the other. Both are introducing new QB's, and have issues with their team.

There have been times when the Ducks were picked to be better and ended the season with a worse record, and same with the Beavers.

 People can hold any opinion they want... especially fans. It doesn't have to be completely rational when you talk up your team or make a bet on whats going to be what... for some fans thats part of the fun. You may have to eat some crow if you do, but there is nothing wrong with people believing in their team.
