I really hope LMA can eventually get it put together ... this season just kind of felt like he stalled out a little

LMA says that's because you don't understand basketball.

Luke is right. Just thinking about the 76-77 season still chokes me up. It was the defining event of my sports fandom. My Skins have won three Super Bowls in my lifetime and my Red Sox won two after an 86 year drought. Compared to how I felt June 5th and the parade on June 6th, those five championships pale in comparison.

I listened to the "Playoffs" side of the "Blazermania" album last night in my car... and I still teared up with joy when I heard Schonley's call of the final seconds of Game 6..

"here we go, they inbound to McGinnis.... drive... stop... pump... shoot... SHORT, NO GOOD... AND THE GAME IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game is over!! Look at that madhouse out there! The Portland Trailblazers, at about two minutes and eighteen seconds after the hour of two o'clock have WON... THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!! They are number one!"

I was cleaning out my basement the other day and found a recap of the championship season on vinyl. It has a lot of cool interviews with the players and coaches. I can't imagine what this city would do if the Blazers won a ring...The only downside to the parade would be the bandwagon jumpers that decided to like the team when we got Greg.

The best part of the final call of the game is when Schonz drops in the H bomb.
