And just think how much better they would have done with a REAL quarterback :devilwink:

Sorry, but I will always long for the days of Joey Harrington or Akili Smith. Masoli doesn't have the arm to be a quarterback, and this is proven by the fact that we run the option. When have the Ducks ever run the option until now? I realize Kelley is just trying to maximize his talent, but fuck.... go get a guy with an arm and a brain and run the west coast.

Think how much better they would have done with a drop back QB running the Spread? Its fine that you dont like it.. but you cant argue the results.

no shit, must every single Duck thread be hijacked by OSU fans? How hard would it be to do Beaver talk in a thread about them?

The Dixon comparisons were made back when he signed and I've been excited about Thomas since. Hopefully he has the head for QBing at this level because he sure has the physical tools. With 2 seasons as the understudy, almost all the offensive line returning, and a bevy of good weapons to tap, it's hard to imagine a better situation for him. We'll see...

    1:33 in for a highlight :)

they've 4 guys still. Costa, Thomas, Hawkins, and Bennett (who I'd imagine they'd like to redshirt)... thats enough depth.

From what I've heard, it sounds like Thomas is a stud. I was told that even LaMichael James was telling WR recruits that Thomas is better than Masoli so dont be worried about not getting thrown the ball.

I hope you and LaMichael are right. I was watching Darron warm up before the Utah game last year, and MAN he throws a pretty ball. Granted it was a warm up and no pressure. But just from him and Masoli standing next to eachother warming up, it was obvious who the more polished passer was. I expect there to be a little more balance in the Rushing and Passing attack now that there will be no Masoli.

It's Katz, not Kats. Not to worry though. You'll have it memorized soon. :smiley-boxing:

I hope D.Thomas kicks ass the next few years... except I hope he really really sucks on Dec. 4th 2010, Nov. 26th 2011, and Nov. 24th 2012.

IF Thomas is a stud, what the chances that Masoli is just gone after this season?

I have a hard time seeing JM coming back regardless of how Thomas and the team does this next season. There was a Kelly quote in an article I relayed recently that roughly went "if I can't trust you then you can't play for me." Reportedly Masoli adamantly told Kelly he had nothing to do with the laptop theft charges that he just pled guilty to. If that combined with the stupidity of the incident itself is not a breaking of trust from the leader of your squad I don't know what is. Look for him to transfer... I'm guessing Hawaii

Gotta agree with Stomp here.. By next year I expect Thomas to be as good, if not better than Masoli. I doubt he stays around for a year just so he can play backup and win special teams player of the week once, like Costa did.
