Dis year has been berry good to me. No different in my pay though my wife did work less... but quite a bit more back.
Weird. I work for an accounting firm and do peoples taxes and more people seem to be owing this year. Something must of been different for you this year than last?
Dis? What the cuss does that mean? Are you a cussing cusser? You live in NE Portland talking like that? I hope you don't have kids. Teaching them cuss like that.
What the cuss are you talking about? A skit in 1980 and you guys are talking about that? Cussing cusses.
whats with bendavis going into every thread and generally being a dickwad? oh, and we can still say fuck, right? fuck shit piss damn hell bitch motherfucker tits
BenDavis503... I have no idea where you are coming from or how my reference to an SNL skit offended you... but I can assure you that no disrespect was intended. JFizzleRaider, my wife worked less and since it is a joint return we showed less income... but deductions were all the same and when she did work since her hours were so low they took almost no tax out.
I am getting back way more then I want! I changed some things this past year hoping to reduce my return and it didn't work. I would rather have this money at the end of every month.
My family is losing about 3k in tax returns this year. I made a little more, but I can't imagine enough to lose 3k in returns. As soon as Obama was elected I told my wife we would be losing 1/2 our tax returns. I underestimated the dems once again.
It is only republican registered votes that are getting less back. In all seriousness though... I was just worried about owing... two years ago I had to write a $2500 check... last year we got a decent return and this year it appear that less taxes were coming out of check even though I didn't change deductions... so I was worried big time.
Gotta love the first time home buyer tax credit. I didn't have to pay any income taxes last year because of it.
What I don't about the curretn tax system is this. My wife and I are blessed to have good jobs... but our incomes combined together jump us into a bracket that is very bad. As our tax accountant told us... we were in the worst possible spot to be in... if we made more money there would be ways around some taxes, less money we'd get to detect childcare expenses etc... So we looked at her income... lets say it was 60K, 40k takehome after takes, minus child care for 3 kids... 20k. So in reality for her working fulltime we get 20k... but then we have someone else raising our kids, she wouldn't be home to cook dinner so we'd eat out more etc... and then we also are in higher tax bracket... to where we didn't get any childcare at all back... and we paid big time in taxes ($3000 between state and fed that year). We looked at that and now she doesn't work... childcare goes to 0, we lose her income totally (though she fills in when she wants) instead of paying taxes we get money back. Bottom line is I think we come out less than 10,000 worse off with her not working (at a 60K job)... but have the added benefit of her being home with the kids. Very well worth it... but it is a bit of a shame or tax laws work like that... where there is that wall you hit.
