....it was a dark day for him to be in the journalism business. Essentially saying that there's so much crap (Penn/KP rumors) flying around out there, it's a personal embarrassment to him. I mean, as if he knows all truth. Gonna be a lot of fur flying around these (PDX) parts in the coming days, folks. MUWAHAHAHA!
When/where did he say this? I've been dutifully downing Jameson and Guiness at Kells since 11:30 this morning and have been blissfully unware of all the flying crap.
If you're chasing Guinesses with Jamesons then the crap will indeed be flying...sometime tomorrow morning. Enjoy your high colonic.
Quicker used to do what Canzano is doing to the Blazers, now it seems he's a company man working for the PR department for the Blazers.
Editor: "JQ! We need the real story on the Penn situation. Get to work!" JQ: "Wait? What? Did you just say 'work'?" Editor: "Yes!" JQ: "This is a dark day for journalism."
I heard it myself this afternoon on Wheels @ Work. Seriously, I think he believes he is (or should be) the only Blazers insider. Especially since that particular honor had been bestowed upon him by The Game soon after he bolted The Fan.
I can't fathom why he would believe that since he consistently gets 'out-scooped' by national outlets and doesn't have his own story about the situation up until at least an hour later. Not in this particular case, but in a lot of them.
I have never been a fan of Quick, but it sounds like he was taking a jab at Canzano. So for that I applaud. Too bad it took him so long to realize how embarrassing his profession is. And he contributed to it.
I disagree. Quick is short of crappy and tends to favor some players over others. But Canzano is a dude that stirs up shit over nothing to increase his national visability. Put it this way, if I met Jason Quick I would shake his hand and ask him how it was going. If I met Canzano I would kick him in the nuts and ask him how that tastes.
So Quick doesn't stir shit up with his reporting? Look at his coverage of Oden last season, and some of his Miller coverage this season. And the way this forum jumped on it. He stirs up shit just as well.
