    Lets recap?

    1. The team is an absolute mess in pre season.

    2. Batum decides on opening day he needs surgery.

    3. Outlaw out 3 months

    4. Oden out for season with 2nd knee injury. Howard fills in and does a great job.

    5. Rudy gets back surgery and out 2 months.

    6. Nate ruptures his achillies. Yes the head coach.

    7. Paul Allen diagnosed with a terrible cancer.

    8. Pryz screws up his knee in Dallas. Out for season. Re injures knee 2 months later in shower.

    9. Blake gets pneumonia with half the team already hurt.

    10. Roy injures hammy and misses 13 games.

    11. Miller scores 52 off lay ups and awkward jumpers.

    12. Camby comes to Portland for blake and outlaw.

    13. Camby gets hurt twice.

    14. Blazers finally get into a groove while rumors about Rudy to Europe grow.

    15. Tom Penn gets fired out of the blue.

    16. Speculation of KPee being next begins.

    17. Martell Webster leads NBA in 3s made for most of January, then becomes a bench-warmer by late March

    18. Odens nude photos while playing his usual role... saying hes sorry.

    19. To be continued (bump)

    Don't forget:

--Rudy allegedly says he wants to go back to Europe

--Ancient Juwan Howard finds fountain of youth

--Martell Webster leads NBA in 3s made for most of January, then becomes a bench-warmer by March

I guess that is if you consider that normal operations. Until last year, normal operations was to not make the playoffs.

Mags has been around forever--maybe not here, but other forums. He was at O-Live long before I was. He's no fair-weather fan; he's about the biggest homer you'd ever meet. Ask SlyPokerDog, he'll tell you.

There is no need to question folks fanhood man. Everybody is different with different agenda's. Some people might have stopped following because it was too much to take, after all, how many times can you take being kicked in the nuts before you just don't let it happen anymore?

By sheer volume of bad things that happened to good (and talented) people, this year wins.

I wonder though if you couldn't come up with several truly crazier seasons. There are injuries, and then there are sloppy seconds, dog fighting, player card ID, crawl spaces, tinfoil in airports, getting high in hummers, basketball in the nuts, technicals, towels in the face, bubble gum, 4th quarter implosions, Jermaine O'Neal, Ha and the vast wreckage of Shawn Kemp, Bonzi Wells and JR Rider. (Feel free to pile on.)

This season has been a G-rated slapstick of tragedy. Interesting and depressing in its own right. But crazier than the Rob Zombie shit from a few years back? Uh, I don't think so.

That's the reason Penn got fired.

One drop of the soap can ruin a man's career.
