So I'm wanting to design my own Blazers t-shirt without violating copyright laws, and mixum's "Craziest season ever" thread got me thinking about Blazer history. It'd be kind of cool to create a shirt with simple icons representing every year since the Blazers' inception.

So for example, the season ending in 2010 will clearly be the year of injuries, so I'm thinking a graphic of a crutch. (Designed correctly I suppose it could also look like Greg Oden's dong, which also works.)

2000 would be two hands crossed in a choking manner. 2003 or so would be the Mo Cheeks facepalm. After that I start to get a little stuck.

Maybe a few of you could help me fill in some blanks. Ideally you can come up with an icon to represent the season, but even just a defining event from that season would be helpful.

1970 Franchise starts. Maybe just a basketball?
1971 Sidney Wicks afro
1972 Head of LaRue Martin
1973
1974Lenny Wilkens ([IMG]); Head of Bill Walton
1975
1976 Jack Ramsay's pants
1977 Championship trophy
1978 50-10 and crutches
1979 Michael Thompson
1980 Billy Ray Bates
1981 Jim Paxson
1982
1983 if you could get a silhouette of the #1 dunk in this video

that would be cool. ; Clyde Drexler
1984 Broken leg; Kiki Vandeweghe
1985 TP ; Sam Bowie
1986
1987 a face of Mike Schuler yelling
1988
1989 Buck Williams; silhouette of a Duck-hook
1990 The Uh-oh Poster
1991 The Perfect Quarter/Cliff fumbling the ball out of bounds; Magic's ball toss
1992 Jordan's shrug
1993 Uncle Cliffy
1994
1995 The Rose Garden
1996 Sabonis and Sheed
1997 Damon Stoudamire
1998
1999 Brian Grant getting stitches from Karl Malone (and still winning!)
2000 The Choke
2001 The Meltdown (basketball whose lower half is just a glob of goo)
2002 National Anthem (US flag?); Qyntel and trading card;
2003 Mo Cheeks facepalm
2004 Sheed traded; Cut The Check (an icon of a check should be pretty easy)
2005 Ha!
2006 Brandon Roy rookie of the year trophy
2007 Three white balls in pyramid shape with a #1 on the top one to signify the lottery
2008 Roy's clutch three point shot against Houston (see 53 second mark from video)
2009 The future comes early; baby for the youngest roster in the league; small playoff bracket to symbolize our return to the playoffs
2010 Crutches; wheelchair

Still not quite sure how it'll lay out. Probably need both front and back of the shirt to make it work. If it looks good, I'll probably put it up on Cafe Press for sale. Probably something I'll work on in my spare time over the coming month or so.

I'll update as slots get filled in. If several ideas come from any season I'll try to add them all so I've got choices to work with.

Awesome moment. The thing I remember about the actual moment is he had a funny way of pulling his jersey to the side that one time only (see the 56 second mark in the video). For a second it looks like he's going to rip off all his clothes because he's so happy. I might just do that in silhouette.

Yeah, that was the same year as the National Anthem. I'll add it, but I kind of think Mo Cheeks helping the little girl was more iconic.

Hell, it was the closest he ever came to actually coaching.

2007, since that was the summer of the year of the draft. Maybe 3 white balls in pyramid shape with a #1 on the top one to signify the lottery.

I'm a little stumped at how to represent that one graphically. Hmm.

lol. Not bad, but a little tricky to communicate in a 1x1" space (which is probably how each icon will come out).
Besides, I'd argue it was more of a nosedive than a watershed.

I think 2001 was also the year of "I'm not a chemistry major" from Bob Whitsitt.

For 2009 you could do a small playoff bracket to symbolize our return to the playoffs.

92 you could do something regarding our appearance in the finals against MJ and the Bulls.

95 could be Clyde being traded.
