I personally feel that Quick has become too emotionally attached to certain people within the organization to properly do his job; when he was on the MSP the other morning and the topic of Tom Penn and his possibly 'abrasive' personality was brought up, he went on about how ridiculous that was, until Jaynes said something like "Really? Some of the people I've talked to in the league and within the organization pretty much confirmed that." at which point Quick had to agree that he'd also heard it. I just get the feeling that he filters a lot of what he hears and knows, instead of just reporting.
As much as I'd agree. Quick has interacted with TP where DJ is speaking from 3rd hard experience, "well I heard from this guy that this guy is this." You don't really know unless you've met the guy. Speaking about someones character without actually knowing them is low IMO. I heard he's a douche so he must be.
Quick's own personal interactions Penn don't have much to do with Penn's interactions between other people in the organization though ... and it wasn't like Jaynes was saying TP was a douche, he was just saying that he'd heard rumblings from more than one person around the league and within the organization.
