Re: UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones (Mar. 21st) He goes down soooooo fucking easily. Its pathetic. Sad to see him tap on elbows to the thigh lol. tough bastard but hes incapable of staying on his feet so he got his ass whooped. Jones and JDS looked good. Where does JDS go from here? Seems unfair to make Cain and JDS fight each other because they've both beaten enough guys to earn a title shot but if one had to lose they would be set back a while. It'd be a great matchup though.
Re: UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones (Mar. 21st) No. JDS still needs to fight higher level competition. He's good, but not as proven as Cain.
Re: UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones (Mar. 21st) JDS should fight the loser of Mir/Carwin. Both guys would be a good fight for him.
Re: UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones (Mar. 21st) ^agreed. JDS and Jones won.. no surprise there. Forrest Griffin vs. Jon Jones, set it up! JJ going to make Griffin look just as bad as Bonnar. edit: just remember Forrest is taking on Nog.. I guess Ryan Bader presents a good challenge for Jones.
Re: UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones (Mar. 21st) Dude. No. Please spare Griffin the embarrassment. It'd be like Griffin/Silva II. I like Jones/Bader. Make that match up, Joe Silva!

As usual I was impressed with Jones. He is showing his game has multiple dimensions. As good a striker as he is it is his GRW takedowns and his top control/ground and pound that could become his bread and butter as his career progresses. He is in rare company being just 22-years old and on the verge of a title shot. Thankfully his division is deep enough for him to keep getting tough opponents in the meantime. Junior dos Santos is a wrecking ball. He is a heavyweight Jose Aldo. I don't know what is next for him with the HW title picture in a bit of disarray at the moment but he looks good enough to take anyone on. We had three guys seemingly quit last night. That was odd. Buentello tapped out due to charlie horse... Vera rolled over because of an elbow to the cheek... and Irvin got hit in the eye and turned his back Jamie Varner style. At least Gonzaga got hit clean. John Howard's ground and pound knockout was scary. Looks to be a better challenger for Anthony Johnson than many supposed.
$50,000 bonuses went to... Jon Jones, Junior dos Santos, John Howard, and Clay Guida. Three knockout bonuses and one submission bonus. Guess it was a lopsided night of fights.
Dana White is calling James Irvin's 185 lb career, over. He'll be back @ 205. He looked fucking horrible. Straight out of Auschwitz. White also criticized Heb Dean for letting Buentello snap his finger back into place! Fuck that shit Dana. Herb did the right thing.
^ The rules aren't clear for a situation like what happened and I think Herb did the right thing by letting the fight continue.
That security guy can take a pretty good illegal blow to the head, kept a stone cold expression the whole time.
