I took a video from game 1 and made a new one highlighting the craziness of Rasheed. Of course, the loss of Wallace in game one was devastating at the time, but looking back on it, and how things were back then, it's really funny. Don't ask why. Just wanted to share!
hah, a few weeks ago my buddy was having an engagement party. turns out my buddy's fiancee's dad taught sheed in HS and said he was a total slack-job back then too. we were having good times trading stories about the shit he pulled in HS, cheating, coaches letting him slide, etc.
Crazy enough, I was almost tossed from Game 2 without saying a word as well. I was in the 8th row, the Blazers were dominating and I would just stand up after every made basket and put my hands in the air, looking down at all the miserable Lakers fans. People were trying to throw things at me but they were hitting their fellow Laker fans. Security started paying attention and I kinda had to tone it down a bit. That was a great night.
Ron Garretson acted like a Canzano-level pussy. He didn't get an immediate statement, so he made an assumption about the person not talking, which only makes him look like an asshole.
Sheed was a moron - but Garretson tossing a team's best player out of a West Conference Finals game for staring at him was and still is completely retarded.
He didn't really follow hoops all that much so told him about the hummer incident, the techs, throwing the towel in Sabas' faces, etc...he was loving it, said he hasn't changed a bit. Said Sheed used to be really grumpy and "fuck authority" in HS too. never went to class, barely passed anything.
As long as he wasn't the 1st option, he was great. I wish we could put 25% of his emotion for the game into LA and he would be a beast!
If you could put 25% of LA's brain into Sheed he could have been a top-50 player in league history. His emotional hissy fits kept him from achieving greatness.
I'd happily trade LMA for a young Sheed. While I'm at it, I wouldn't mind trading some combination of Bayless, Rudy, Webster and Przybilla for Pippen at the age Portland acquired him. That's actually probably a better package than Portland actually traded.
