Wow, this is really shocking. It's not like young black kids to be involved in something like this. I think this was more of an isolated incident than anything else.
This is why I stay on the west side of the water. Things like this do not happen in Beaverton. And there is a VERY GOOD reason why!
You can keep believing that if you want, but the gang activity in the Hillsburrito/Beaverton border is pretty bad.
You are correct. Very few black gangs in your hood. Beaverton, Tigard, Hillsboro area gangs include the notorious 13th Street Gang, and are almost exclusively illegal Mexican immigrants, although they commit about the same amount of crimes if not more.
Here's why Portland isn't safe from gangs: "We've had, unfortunately, shots fired all over the city, from sidewalks to church vestibules," said Lt. Kevin Modica, who heads the Police Bureau's gang enforcement unit. "It's unfortunate wherever it occurs." Modica listed four recent gang-related shootings, two of which led to non-life threatening injuries: March 17 at Northeast Prescott Street and 16th Avenue; March 19 in the 8400 block of Southeast Brooklyn Street; March 20 at West Burnside Street and Northwest Fourth Avenue; and Wednesday inside the mall. "The parent in me is upset about that one (at the mall), because it worries me about the training and guidance these kids are getting at home," said Rob Ingram, director of the city's Office of Youth Violence Prevention, which provides alternative activities and outlets for youth who might get ensnared by gang violence. Years too late to worry about failed parenting. These punks need to be killed or imprisoned, end of story.
Yep, really sad how these racists are. I long for the day when racists keep to themselves and we can all just wander out into the world and get shot at by gang members .............................without fear of hearing law abiding citizens stereotype gang bangers. Because THAT is just wrong.
