    1. I think that might have been the best offensive game of the year from the Blazers? they looked great.

    2. Chris Paul needs to call it a season...hes not himself or even close.

    3. Our bench is gonna be the death of us in the playoffs. man its like watching a d-league game when bayless, webster, and howard come in.

    4. what the hell has happened to howard? out of gas? he sucks as of late.

    5. praise kpee all you want but how does a team like portland who clearly needs a PG of the future miss out on two studs in Collison and Roddy B? I mean those guys make bayless look like a high school player. you wanna give kpee credit for getting batum but man... claver over these two guys is shameful. they are fucking studs in the making. if collison is EVER available... you jump on that without blinking. kid doesnt miss.

    6. All i can say is poor martell. Is he cleaning lockers after games now?

    7. Camby and Miller make us so much better its crazy.

    8. OKC is favored by 5 points. That seems a bit much to me.... but they did kill the lakers.

    9. David West hates us.... i mean he really hates us. Just a feeling i get.

    10. Biggest game of our season today.

I pretty much agree with all of your points.

Our bench unit has looked horrible lately: Bayless seems to kill the flow of the offense, Webster jacks up airballs, Rudy plays as if he is not healthy (probably true), Howard still hustles and gives some good fouls, but his shot has been off lately. One can't blame him too much though.

WE are winning though. That is really the most important thing. And a lot of that has to do with Miller and Camby completing our lineup. Those two have really been a godsend in the second half of the season.

Regardless of all that, I really hope we can pull out a win tomorrow. That would be huge!!!!!!

Ironic, Bayless actually did good tonight, especially at trying to run the team in the first half. The fourth quarter was a bit of disaster, but that wasn't exactly all of Bayless' fault. Webster kept bricking, Rudy blew, etc.

I agree on the Bayless sentiments......but in general, he just hasn't played that well. It always looks like he is rushing everything at all times and not waiting for things to naturally happen.

I still like Bayless and hope he can grow. But as of right now, I just don't trust him as a backup. Ask yourself the question, "Do I feel comfortable when Miller sits down and Bayless enters that game?".

    I personally answer, "no".

Howard has been a trooper this season, but it does appear that he is running out of gas. I'm sure no one, including Howard himself, expected to him to play this many minutes.

It is a good and fair question, I have mixed emotions about it and say both yes and no for various reasons. I say no because Miller is the vet and is one of the keys in order to not only clinch a playoff birth, but to also possibly make some sort of noise in the playoffs. On top of that, he is a good player, makes good passes, generally doesn't commit to many dumb turnovers, can get to the rim and controls the offense. My only problem with Miller is when he thinks he is a good jumpshooter and takes unescessary long jumpers/3 pointers.

On the other hand, I am comfortable with Bayless in the sense, that he can bring us a dimension that many Blazers lack, and that is able to penetrate and either hopefully make the correct pass to an open shooter/cutter, or draws a foul while being a decent finisher. He can also play some tremendous defense as well, did against Chris Paul tonight. You're correct, he has a long way to go if he ever wants to be a PG and definitley plays out of control at times, and his jump shot is just as dreadful as Miller's. I must say, it may be a bit of a concern with him backing up Miller come playoff time, but if he is considered part of the future, he needs the experience in the playoffs, it isn't like we are likely to go far anyway. If he isn't considered the part of the future then give the minutes to Batum and Rudy, I guess.

How was KP supposed to draft Collison if he was off the board when we picked? You're a fuckin troll.

Roddy Beaubois, too. Edit: OK, he actually was available at 22. I'm pretty sure he was on our board, seeing we worked him out a year before and the staff was raving about him. I guess we were expecting him to be there in the beginning of the 2nd round (where he was projected).

Every time a player has a bad game or two, we can count of Mixum (and Canzano) to be sure to kick them in the head when they're down. It's pretty lousy when that's your best character trait.

Listen folks, Bayless isn't going to develope without playing time. Many young guards stink it up their first year or so into the league, some even longer. Look at WestBrook. His first year he stunk, and stunk badly. Bad shooting percentage, turning over the ball, playing out of control. But that playing time got him to where he is now. The facts are, we need to find out if Bayless, and Rudy for that matter, are capable of playing at a higher level. If they are not capable, then we know they aren't and can make a move. If they are capable, you keep them on board sign them to extensions, blah blah blah.

It's not like I expect the Blazers to win a single round of the playoffs this year anyhow. So we might as well grow the team up a little bit.

more bayless excuses... dude he sucks. accept it like odens health... not gonna change.

collison and roddy are already twice the player bayless is.... and its not close. how kpee passed on them is disturbing. if bayless had half their skills we would be golden. show me a day when bayless will ever have a chance yo go 10-10. no way. bayless cant hit a jumper to save his life.

I am not saying they aren't. But those guys also went to school longer than Bayless did, and guards experience counts. You can go ahead and bitch all you want, it's not going to change anything. Bayless is here for the year. He is our backup PG. Those are the facts, and moving forward, we have to hope for improvement.

As for Bayless jumper...yes it can improve. But it's not badly broken. It appears to me that he is having the common problem of moving from the college 3 to the NBA 3. That happens a lot. Players have to develope the strength and feel for that range. Fuck, if you can fix Shawn Marions Knuckleball shot, any shot can be fixed if the player is willing to put in the effort. From everything I read, Bayless puts in a lot of work. He will get there.

I also think you have a very short memory. While Brandon was out, and Rudy was out, I thought Bayless did a hell of a job, and even provided the team the necessary lift for some victories this year. Does 31 points in San Antonio ring a bell? How about 29 vs PHX? Given he is no Brandon Roy, but there have been many times this year where he helped contribute to a Blazer victory, many of them when the Blazers were extremely short handed.

Lastly, just by getting those players we would not be golden. New Orleans had them all year long and they weren't golden. For all the stats Collison puts up, he doesn't put up the important one: Wins.

Should be noted that Darren Collison was a 4 year player (3 year starter) at UCLA, while Bayless played one college season and limited minutes his first two seasons.

Will Collison be a better NBA'er, maybe? but how about we allow Bayless to mature enough as a PG before we decide he sucks. Dude is still young give him time.
