What hardly ever happens? Nobody is expecting Hawk to be Ray Lewis but Hawk has the talent to be one of the top 5 or so linebackers in the game.

What are you talking about 'next year?' Your acting like all those guys are so much better, when Hawk gains experience he can be as good as any of those linebackers listed and better.

You said next year. Next year I doubt he'll be a top 25 LB. You act like your defense is on level with the Bears.

I never said 'next year', WTH are you talking about?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ May 9 2006, 05:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>You said next year. Who is in your top 25 linebackers then?

Oh NVM. I stand by my point though. AJ Hawk will have some trouble and he wont be god next season. You're dfense is still very young and inexperienced. You cant expect all these guys to go in and play spectacularally well. You are an average defensive team.

He has more talent than any linebacker picked last year and they were an amazing group of linebackers. He led an elite defense at Ohio State and is the best linebacker prospect to come out in years, what makes you think he will have trouble when much less experienced and talented linebackers have had a lot of success? Again you have not pointed out one reason why Hawk won't be a great linebacker, your just hating on him for no reason. I'm not saying he will be god, i'm pointing out what everyone knows, that he has all the skills to be a great linebacker. Our defense isn't young. Our DB's are all other than Collins 27 years old or older, and our defensive line is a very experienced and veteran group. Our linebackers are the only young part of our defense. We are an above average defensive team with the moves we have made.

Of course he will have trouble coming from College to the NFL. It will be alot harder for him stopping Pro Bowl NFL running backs.

Last years linebackers did fine, I don't see how Hawk has any real problems.

You still haven't given me any reason as to why Hawk will have trouble next season. And like you said before in a post, 'this isn't realgm, you have to explain yourself.'

Because he is a rookie, he will have trouble like 98% of rookies adjusting from NCAA to the NFL. He's not just going to go in there and be dominant from the start. I think you will have some LB issues.

I never said anything like that, he will make our linebacking core solid next year and he he's going to be one of the best linebackers in the NFL.

You guys, I hate Ohio State, but A.J. Hawk is a STUD, no doubt about it. This guy has an uncanny nose for the ball, and he hits like a freight train. He's got amazing lateral speed and can cover ground faster than any linebacker in college football. An approximate quote from a College Football expert. "I was once told that A.J. Hawk had limited potential because he has short arms. When you run a 4.6 and weigh 250 pounds, and can hit so hard you drive the running back 5 yards in the wrong direction, I'm not exactly sure where short arms comes into play."I'm a very big GB fan, and of course not being an Ohio State fan, I didnt want us to get Hawk, but after watching him play, it erased any doubt I had about him. He's like a Keith Brooking but even more athletic. Hawk can be an elite LB in the NFL his rookie year. Plus, even though I hate Ohio State, they are notorious for producing outstanding Linebackers.Oh, and for Abdul Hodge, that man is built like a rock, and according to NFLDraftCountdown.com he hits like a "ton of bricks". "Has great instincts", and "gravitates toward the action and always seems to be in the mix". Much like AJ Hawk, a real physical guy to help our front 7. We were number 1 against the pass with a WEAK secondary. Ahmad Carroll, come on, he got called for PI on at least every other play. Woodson is only going to strengthen that facet of the D, add Hawk and Hodge into the mix, and thats a damned good defense in my opinion.Greg Jennings may not be a prototypical WR to replace Javon, because he's not the vertical threat, or the athlete. But like almost every pro scout says, its tough to ignore the production, and Jennings produced big numbers that were impressive even for a small conference player. Production is what matters, potential is nothing but talent waiting to be utilized, and in the case of someone like say, Ryan Leaf, potential really doesnt mean anything. Will Blackmon however is a very good deep threat with great quickness to make people miss. I think he'll suprise some people with his production for Green Bay.Theres my 2 cents.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>and he's the only reason Green Bay is on the map.</div>There was also this guy named Vince Lombardi...I do like Hawk, though. As a Texas fan watching that Ohio State-Texas game last year just showed me how good he was. And I was even happier when the Cowboys got Carpenter. The Pack will be improved, but not in the chase. Favre will start every game, but Rodgers will get some time in at the end of games in December.
