We're not exactly cheering them on. Just hoping they can beat the Spurs. Kinda' different. Give it a try, it's cool.
Dude, I want the team to win a championship. To do that we need to be the best team. If we are, then bring on LA - or anyone else. It's not like we can avoid them. For that matter, I can't stand SA either, so I won't be rooting for them either. It's moot, SA is killing them.
We ain't winning the Championship this year, buddy. Getting past the first round would be amazing. Probably won't happen if we face LA. MUCH better chance facing the Mavs.
Yes we can. If someone else beats them in the first or second round. The only way to NOT avoid them is to finish 8th.
Scoring 1 field goal in the last 5 1/2 minutes with no big man to go to down the stretch? We're going to be eaten alive by any of the top 3 in the first round.
Right now now I feel good about facing any team other than the Lakers and the Jazz. Denver - Absolutely reeling right now with the loss of Karl and Martin Dallas - No question we have their number this year. PHX - Should have won that last game but again, I would feel confident matching up with them OKC - Similar to us last year, Haven't experienced playoff basketball. The difference in physicality is enormous. Spurs - Wary but still not concerned. Not nearly as dangerous without Parker
I also like the fact the Blazers will be entering the playoffs as an underdog. Teams in the NW always seem to play better when in the underdog role.
The game slows down in the playoffs and possessions are at a premium. We're very efficient on offense and we don't turn it over. That translates to wins in the playoffs, imo. The Lakers and maybe the Spurs are the only teams in the West that have dependable low post options.
We're not getting any help from anyone else. We just have to continue to win games like this. 2 days off for Rudy's injury to heal....Maybe Rudy should skip the Knicks' game and get 3+ days of rest before we head to Denver on Thursday.
The iso looks pretty good if Batum's three goes in and they go up 8. Or if Miller drives to the basket with 12 seconds left instead of going with the jumper, or if Howard makes the 10 footer off the nice pass from Roy. Brandon did force two shots, but "killing the clock" is what smart coaches do. Buy the NBA league pass and watch a few more teams.
Ain't it the truth! They're really clicking together. Andre Miller is the biggest surprise of all. The guy is just a GREAT player.
