I bought an xbox in 2006 (?) and it RROD'd on me so I got it repaired (free) and gave it to my brother. Bought a new one (elite) thinking it would be better (there was some talk of minor changes to the PC fan/heatsinks and whatnot) but it also RROD'd. And my brother's refurbished RROD'd again. Keep in mind this is after years of use. So yeah, the Xbox has some QA/QC issues. But what are you going to do when you have 20 or so games for it? Buy a PS3 and all new games? Nope. Just get her fixed once again. On xbox.com you can enter the serial number of your unit to see if it is still under warranty. The turnaround for the fix is usually about two weeks, which is pretty good, considering.
pretty much the same here. I dont feel like restarting with my 20-25 games all over again. I'm on my 3rd one. only 1 RROD though.
i dont see the big deal of 50 for a year..but then again my gold just expired and i havent bought a new one yet
Yeah, i've never been a big fan of the controller either, but i've been using it for like 12 years now, so pretty use to it lol.
