Maybe its late and I missed... but if not. As of now it looks like Masoli will try and stick things out. (for now) http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindducksbeat/2010/03/oregon_football_jeremiah_masol_2.html
I felt he should have to give back his scholarship and be fully dismissed. I see a difference between a kid getting a DU, tackling a woman who had stolen his car keys, or getting into a fight as opposed to an intent to rob people. Masoli could have gone to any of a few hundred boosters and gotten a few thousand in small bills. But he didn't.
At this point, who would take him? He's better off making amends and proving to pro scouts it was a lapse in judgment.
James was confronted by an upset "ex" who tore a necklace off him, grabbed his set of keys and dashed out the aprtment. He chased her to get his keys back and tackled her in some bark dust. Aside from that, he didn't lay a hand on her.
I'm not trying to say anything about him being at fault, or that she wasn't acting out. Just going off of court document, he had her by the arms, grabbed her by the collar, pushed her against his car, and grabbed her out of the car. THEN, he tackled her. More contact than just the tackle.
Did you guys ever read the police report? No one actually saw Masoli with anything. I think he was set up by Beaver fans. A giant conspiracy.
Because he probably runs in the high 4.5's or low 4.6's. He wont be able to run over guys at the next level.
