Would you report an illegal immigrant?

Some are here just looking for work and a better life. Some are here for other reasons. I knew a mechanic who moved to Oregon from L.A. and he used to transport illegals by the truck load from Mexico to California. He even transported MS13 members across the border. These guys are straight killers.

It's sad to see a family ripped apart but it is still illegal. Do you mind your own business or do you call INS?

If an illegal immigrant hit my car with no insurance I would definitely make sure that i would take them to court. If they want to live in this country then they need to go through the right steps, get a green card and apply to be a citizen (7 years as a resident) under the law that we have established.

I wouldn't. I have no gripes about someone trying to make a better life for themselves.

I would not report a known illegal immigrant unless they gave me cause to.

Would INS do anything about it?

It would be interesting to see if they would even follow up on a reported illegal. I guess it depends where you live too.

Easy to say Yes, unless of course you know them....

Bottom line is this is a fucking mess....and once again our gov't cannot seem to come up with a reasonable policy to fix it....

border security must be tightened and enforced...that has to happen first

You have to have a plan for all the illegals already here...trying to find them and send them home just isn't reasonable....I say you give them the carrot they seek, an offer of citizenship..but they pay a fine for "jumping the line" and coming over illegally and it can be some token fine either...

give them a year...report your status as an illegal and be given a ticket on the road to citizenship...pay a fine for your transgression of being here illegally or be deported no exceptions, and anyone with a criminal background must be deported regardless....

At this point you have to fix the leaking dam at our borders and then you can address the flood of illegals here...

    No.

My Great, Great Grandfather would have been an illegal immigrant if the current laws were in place back when he moved here.

America used to be the great melting pot. I have no idea why the hell that changed.

Nope. I think borders are arbitrary...I don't see any ethical reason why a person born 20 miles south from a person born in San Diego, for example, should have any less of a right to be here.

I don't think location of birth should earn anything (or disqualify anything).

I moved to Phoenix four years ago from Portland, and four years ago I don't remember Hispanics standing out front of Home Depot or Lowes looking for work in the Northwest. Here, on a weekday you could probably round up 75 illegal immigrants standing out front most Home Depots. It is logistical to have the INS roll in there and deport them all? Absolutely not.

    Yes.

Not "immigration be damned." More like "immigration be open."

So you're in favor of a one-world society? One in which people are free to move as they please without filling out the necessary paperwork? A squatter's paradise?

There's a simple solution to this problem: invade Mexico. Make it part of the US. Or better yet, make it like Puerto Rico. Independant, yet not.

No. I don't give a fuck about them being here.

They are just part of the system that is the United States.

Pretty much. I'm okay with separate governments for separate nations...I'm not sure a one-world government is workable or reasonable. But I think immigration should be as free and open and possible.

We're all squatters in that respect. Some of us are just squatting closer to where we born.
