Chauncey Billups team won the most games, but it doesnt make him the best pg in the NBA. I'm not saying anything about his team, im speaking about individual ability. Find me one thing he does better individually then Brand,KG,or JO. 19/9 is nothing worthy of being an allstar. Are the Spurs still a good team? Yes, but im not even debating that.
Parker has been getting more touches because of Duncan's injury, this is a loaded Spurs club meaning Duncan doesnt have to score 30 a game.Look at how he has done in the playoffs both of his games he was averaging like 28-29 ppg.I'm not taking anything away from Brand or KG or the others you listed but they need to contribute more for there teams to win.
Duncan is Duncan still and he's only 29. He's not past his prime yet, no way. He's still the best PF in the game if you ask me. Next year he will be the Tim Duncan we have seen his whole career. The problem is he never took any time off to rest, which he should have. But no doubt he's the best big man in the NBA right now.
This topic is very stupid. Primetime, the injury duncan is suffering from is not one that will come up again and again. Once it heals, it disappears.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (PrimeTime @ May 9 2006, 11:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>When you injury your knee like he did, You dont just pop back. He'll still be decent, but he's a shell of himself, like Grant Hill,Mcydess, and Zo are like I said.</div>I don't know about Mcdyess or Zo and their injuries, but i do know that Grant Hill injured his ankle many times not his knee. Regular season he didn't have a normal Tim Duncan year, but that was more injuries than anything else. I think the game yesterday showed how valuable Tim Duncan is to the Spurs, and that he is still a dominant force in the game. The Mavericks went on a tear when Duncan went to the bench for that final 6 minutes or so. The Spurs couldn't even score with Duncan on the bench, and was keeping the game somewhat close with him in the game. I believe next year will prove that Duncan is still dominate, and this year was just a bad year for him.
I know he puts up numbers, and I love TD...but it seems whenever he puts out a good night, his team loses...and when he takes the sidenote to Tony P and Ginobli, they win.
Tim Duncan probably will never have another 25 and 12 season, but he is still going to put up 20 PPG and 11 RPG on great percentages for another 6 years or so. His minutes have decreased, as have his shot attempts, which amounts for his point decrease. However, he is rebounding the same, shooting comparable percentages, and playing as great of defense as ever. By the time he is 100% recovered from hsi injury next year, expect yet another 20 and 10 season
Tim Duncan has won 3 championship rings. He is the face of his franchise at 29 years old. He entered his prime 2, 3 years ago. He's a little banged up, but I bet next year he'll be back to his "22/12"-self guy.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BCB @ May 13 2006, 11:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>So ah, Primetime, 35/12 tonight?...Yeah...Tim Duncan is a shell of his former self. </div>That's what happens when you have Dirk and Dampier defending you every night. That's kind of like if Hakeem Olajuwon played shaq every game for his career. Also remember the mavericks defense is actually very good, other then their frontcourt, although Diop has emerged as a modern Oakley, so I see that only improving, and since the mavericks backcourt shut out manu and parker nearly, Popovich commited to their post game. So obviously he got his touches and they exploited the mavericks weakness, but just remember who won that series.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ May 24 2006, 05:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>^Jason Terry is a piss poor defensive player. So, their backcourt defense isnt that great either.</div>Actually Terry is a good man defender, but Devin Harris and Marques Daniels are who i was refering to.
Devin and Marquis are good, but to say that Terry is a good man to man defender is just wrong. Terry is worse at defense than Dirk. He doesnt put any effort into it. The good thing is though that they had Harris covering Parker for most of the series.

Tim Duncan has to be a top 5 most boring player in the league, but he's not a top 5, not even a top 10 player in the league anymore. He's a good rebounder, and a good shooter, but he can't dominate night in and night out and...he's still a great player...I just hate him.He just has that attitude, god I hate it. It's that cocky-but-trying-to-be-a-good-sport-and-kiss-coach-poppovichs-ass attitude...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nygiants4life @ May 24 2006, 08:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>...I just hate him...</div>Exactly, I used to really hate Duncan, but I can't even bring myself to hate his game. Before this season started, I would have told you flat out that there was no player in the league as good and as consistent as Duncan. Of course, he had his injury drag him down and Kobe had such a fantastic season, I can't bring myself to call him the best. But even then, he's still the best power forward in the league, and he was still the best player on one of the best teams in the league. Don't let an injury throw you guys off, I'm pretty sure Kobe had a similar injury toawrds the beginning of last season. Look what he did this year...EDIT: Kobe did, here's some info on plantar fasciitis...http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=16519
