WOW! That is huge. He brought that extra toughness and defensive to that squad. I think they will miss him.

The article really just said that he is feeling better but won't know till he is able to play basketball. If the pain returns then he will not be able to return. No big new news.

That news does help our chances but we still need to find a way to contain C.Anthony. C.Billups, and J.R smith.

On NBATV last night they said they are going to try and bring him back a game or two before the season ends to have him test it.

It hurts them, but not as much as many may think IMO. Nene and Birdman can/will step it up if he's out.

Like they have in the past 6 out of 7 games? In the last 6 games the Birdman is averaging barely a block per game. Nene and Johan Petro have continually been in foul trouble. Their front line has been a major problem.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
They're not going to improve. The Nuggets were already counting on those two guys, in addition to Martin. Who is going to "step up" to replace Martin?

I think it hurts. Not as much as losing Anthony, Billups or Nene, but it's a significant loss.

Not a word in this thread about the bigger problem, losing their coach.

Poor George Karl. He's encountered some trouble with his chemo--infections and the like.

I agree. We're not talking about Tim Duncan here - it's Kenyon Martin!

You know who would look really good as a Nugget right now? Marcus Camby. Too bad they traded him to the Clips to cut costs and get the rights to swap second round picks. :ghoti:

If I were a Nugs fan watching the odd Portland game, I'd be absolutely seething. That deal may be the difference between getting bounced in the second round and a title.

I agree it compounds the problem. Both guys provide leadership on the team. Kmart provides toughness. Karl provides focus.
