Nothing has changed. We get pushed around in the paint wether its greg, joel, or camby out there. That tells me that Roy and LA are soft. Batum is a skeleton... i mean theres no muscle out there at all. If the jumpers arent falling we are finished vs teams like denver. Barkely has said it a million times.... until the blazers get a dominant post player, this is what they are. Good season record and a 1st round exit. Its the truth... get used to it. I just read quicks recap of the game and is disturbing... Batum says no Utah. Miller says No lakers. Roy admits denver controls him. Who would the bLazers like? A bye in the first round? Talk about soft. And people here think this teams winning a title? they are more concerned with who to avoid rather then who to beat. Really upsetting. Thats not how winners think. Its how scared pretenders think.
Did you guys notice how many times that Batum, Camby, Webster, etc, just stood there within the key and let Denver score easy buckets right in the lane? No heart to hustle and try to block the shot. That was just gross to watch tonight.
it was like watching a bunch of guys being bullied. the blazers are waaaaaay to soft. they have that rep around the league. why do you think teams like utah, denver, boston, cleveland always beat us? they get tough... and the blazer hate it. we are like the mavs... SOFT
How in the fuck do you know what teams around the league think of the Blazers toughness? Spend a lot of times with other NBA team's scouts?
HCP, if you watched the game tonight our Blazers looked dumb and confused around the basket and took no heart to defend at times. And Denver scored easy.
hcp is a company guy... i get that but im being honest and so is natedogg. try to be at least fair hcp.... i doubt they will fire you for being honest about these softies
They looked horrible on their week side help D. They were so intent on helping with Mello, they were letting guys get easy ass hoops. Anybody can see that. It just gets old when shit for brains starts a new thread about how horrible the Blazers are at this and how terrible they are at that after every loss! Fuck, these guys looked dead tired out there and got whipped tonight plain and simple. We didn't get to the hotel til 3AM if that means anything. It was one game and lets move on. Dallas looked like shit on the defensive end tonight also with a days rest. It happens.
Well, HCP, it still doesn't show the fact that our blazers just stood there around the basket and let the Nuggets drive into the paint and score. No heart. That was pitiful tonight to watch on TNT.
We left at 11:00......... 2 1/2 hour flight to Denver/ lose and hour/ 35 minute drive from airport to downtown Denver. If you know a short cut, holler. I was not using the guys being tired as an excuse for this loss though.
We lost a tough one and we didn't look good out there... its not the first time its happened and its not going to be the last. Making threads and pretty much saying were screwed really isn't very productive and all it does is show that you watched a game were we sucked and figured out why we sucked. Guess what? The coach is paid to do that too... even if you think mcmillian sucks he isn't stupid. Him and the other assistant coachs will watch the tape and figure out what we did wrong so this wont happen again. As for Roy and LMA being soft... people have tossed the idea of LMA being soft out their a lot, their might be something to that, as for Roy being soft... Go ask ANY player in the NBA if Roy is easy to gaurd. Noone will tell you that he is easy and even Kobe came out and said that Roy was one of the best offensive players in the game.
It's the same as last year. We didn't want Houston. We don't want Utah or Denver this year. I would love to get the Mavs or Suns, but I would even take the Lakers over the Nuggets or Jazz.
And last summer, people were actually questioning why the team would offer that big a deal to Millsap. While I am still baffled by KP's flirtation with Hedo, his pursuit of Miller and Millsap was dead on target.
Agreed. Especially LMA and Webster. No drive, tenacity or heart. Guys just standing around watching. Pathetic. The Blazers team on the floor, as a by-product of the coaching staff and their techniques, are just getting outclassed in almost all areas. Other coaching staff seem able to get much more from less talented rosters. (note the no-name guys who always blow up playing the Blazers=lack of defense on our part and better coaching on their part)
The worst byproduct of Oden's injury is Nate getting a free pass for this season. In reality, Oden's absence should expose Nate's defensive coaching deficiencies and lack of offensive creativity. Forget the U of O. Can the Blazer hire Tom Izzo?
That actually does explain a lot. They DID look dead out there last night, and I couldn't figure out why. They had Monday and Tuesday off, and it was hard to look at last night's game as a back-to-back when you consider that they were up by 30 points at halftime the night before and everybody got to rest in the 2nd half. So I'm wondering why they looked like they were in quicksand last night. But I forget about things like jet lag and getting into town at 3:00 A.M. I'm not too worried about last night. Denver is 31-6 on their home floor, and it was just one of those nights where our guys couldn't hit anything. It happens. But to say we got bullied around by a their physicality doesn't seem accurate to me (not you "The") Rebounds were 36-36 (they only had 9 offensive boards) We shot 28 FT's to their 26. Billips got hot at the end of the 3rd and was blowing by Rudy or whoever else was trying to guard him. Then Melo hit a bunch of jumpers in the 4th to pull away. Nobody got pushed around. And we are not soft!
I don't know, it was an ugly, timid game from the Blazers but I have a hard time making any sweeping generalizations about their 'heart' and ability to play playoff basketball when it comes against a rested and desperate Nuggets team at home. I'm just hoping they can show a little more competitive fire when it comes to playoff time.
I'm not buying it. We had an easy game against NY and rested our starters. There was no excuse for the second half defense. None. Yeah, I know "it happens", but still it was just plain lazy play.
I'm sorry. I thought we were 11-2 in March and hadn't lost back to back games since Feb (Boston & Utah) I didn't realize we were getting "outclassed in almost all areas". I dissagree with your "no name" theory also. Nate's philosophy many nights is to make the other team's 2nd, 3rd, 4th scoring options beat us (instead of the #1) When you focus so much on defending a team's #1 scoring option, that IS going to leave other guys with decent shots. Sure, sometimes that bites you in the ass. But I'd rather have J.R. Smith and Arron Afflalo shooting jumpers than Carmelo beasting everybody we throw at him, while scoring 40+ points and fouling out all of our front line.
Yeah, Greg and Joel get pushed around in the paint. Who does that to them, MIXUM? If you don't answer (as usual), I'll just chalk it up as another ignorant, inflammatory statement. Go Blazers
