This is getting out of control! The man has 1 bad game, and this place comes unglued. Do you people forget what he has done for our franchise over the past 4 seasons? The few of you on here that are actually trying to say that Brandon is now our problem are showing your lack of not only basketball knowledge but common sense. I will tell you with all certainty that there are at least 27 teams in this league that would love to have him as their starting 2 guard!
Listen, if roy wants to earn the elite status you all wanna give him.... carry us into the 2nd round. until then hes a 2nd tier all star.
Not sure if you referring to what I posted. I'm not hating on Roy. I hate the way he tries to coast through games and isn't aggressive from tip off. If you think that's bs then I don't know what to tell you. The way he has been playing for the majority of the season reminds me when Kobe was criticized in I think it was 2004 for shooting too much. The next game he just pouted around and he played hot potato with the ball the next game and put up one shot. I don't see Roy ever doing this, but he is too worried about "guys not looking for him" and then he kind of mopes. You can't deny this, he acknowledged it himself. Take the game over already. Make some plays for your teammates like you have been the past 3 years.
Roy is a tier 2 star. The problem is with the folks who expect him to be more. Quit expecting for him to be more, and you will quit being dissapointed. Portlands problems are with the supporting cast, not Roy.
calling me a smart ass is a personal attack. I think personal attacks are bannable offenses. If we can't ban him because some somehow don't see it as trolling, can we at least ban him for the personal attack? [deleted]
oh.. you forgot to answer the question "bro" lmao and um if people cant get banned for posting personal info, saying i work in a gay club, or threats... then i highly doubt smart ass is that big of a deal. saying fuck you as someone just did is def a personal attack lol. as usual...
I didn't say fuck you. I said go fuck yourself. How is that a personal attack? It's a suggestion. Maybe releasing that sexual tension will make you a better person. If someone can tell someone to learn the game and then post(suggestion), why is saying fuck yourself wrong?
Good grief. This whole argument started because someone suggested that Roy was not on the same level with LeBron/Kobe/Wade. How can an observation that innocent and obvious touch off such a firestorm? Can everyone just get a grip?
What about telling people "Drink the Kool Aid?" Is that not a suggestion of suicide? Is that banable? Basketball seems to cause you great stress Sir Mixim a lot. In particular the Portland Trail Blazers. "Take the safety off."
Let's not forget Roy lost 2 playoff games last year when he continued his late game 1 on 3 and 1 on 4 heroics, easily had the ball stripped away and ignored wide open teammates. He's also the same Roy who refused to push the ball when implored to by his coach. So there are 2 Brandon Roys. There's the tireless fighter than can get inside and make tough shots that I admire, but then there's the other side which cannot be ignored. To be fair, I've seen him pass more and pick up more assists, but not late in games. In fact, let me say this: Until BR learns he has teammates late in games, we have no reason to think we will ever get out of the first round of the playoffs.
Prior to the playoffs, *ss clown just needs to figure out how to creatively: (a) reduce the amount of iso's Roy gets and (b) vary the offense to enable Roy to effectively pass out of the double/trip teams he's been receiving and will receive.
Roy is a second tier star (in the mold of Joe Johnson, Dirk Nowitski, etc.) so when people get upset that he's not carrying us like a Lebron, Wade or Kobe would I scratch my head a little bit. I get it that people need/want him to be more than he is, because so much of this team's ultimate success or failure is riding on him, but I'd be hesitant to pin it on Roy when he's playing in a system that probably hasn't done him any favors by asking him to isolate and go against a set defense as much as he has in his first 4 years. Maybe this is why I'm not sold on Nate as the long term solution as the coach. I'm not so sure he's ever going to be able to craft a system that frees up more open shots for these guys and/or blends the talents of Oden (when eventually, hopefully) healthy. I guess for me these questions get answered next season, not this season.
