I don't get the hate for Kobe ... on the other hand, his legion of boot licking fans that would inevitably take over the RG? Yikes, now that is a scary proposition.

When the Blazers signed Patterson I did not go to a game for 2 years, I cancelled my charter subscription to Rip City and resigned from the official forum.

If they sign Kobe Bryant, it won't be 2 years, it will be forever.

The other guys, they are not really bad people, just jerky and guess what a lot of athletes are jerky. It's like Laimbeer or Mahorn in the old days, you hate them when they are not on your team. But Bryant is in a class of infamy by himself.

Fortunately, he would never come to Portland - except to lose at the Rose Garden.

I have never had any problem hating a particular player on the Blazers while still rooting for the team as a whole.

For example: Ruben Patterson, and Darius Miles.

However, Ricky Davis would be a difficult pill to swallow. JJ Berea would be tough to root for.

You mean the throngs of teenage girls that must be following the lakers around? I mean, when you watch one of their away games, every time Kobe (or, to a lesser degree, any laker) scores, it sounds like an Nsync concert, circa 2001.

    1. Rapist
    2. Asshole
    3. Cocky beyond cocky.
    4. Pushing Scottie Pippen off on a drive, hitting a jumper, then standing over Pippen screaming "GET UP, BITCH!"
    5. He's a lifetime Laker.
    6. Did I mention Rapist?

Maybe they want to be raped and paid off under the table, too.

after having my heart torn out I believe 11,345 times by Kobe, I developed a healthy respect for him. Oh and I matured a little from ages 19-22 but before that I was totally in the same boat as others here. But I gotta respect the dude's skills. He is oooooooone bad Mamba. Oh and Lebron and KG being total douches sure have helped my transition to not hating Kobe ;)

While I know the Rapist thing will hang over his head, it was never shown one way or another if that is the reality of the situation. Too many things point to that just being another money grubbing woman looking to strike gold than Kobe being a Rapist. I give folks the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. The facts are athletes are targets for people trying to extort them, because they have a ton of money and a lot to loose.

No way in hell he's 6'0". I'd say 5'6"-5'8" at the absolute most!

thats what I always thought too. ESPN, and NBA.com have him at 6 foot. I know they can be generous with an inch or so.. but usually not 4-6 inches. My whole life has been turned upside down today lol.

Honestly I don't know what it is. I just despise the dude.

I think it is due to the time punked the Blazers on Christmas day. I had to slog through a foot of snow to get to that game only to watch that midget school Portland's entire team.

    got this from wiki

"It was revealed that Bryant leaned Faber over a chair to have sex with her, which allegedly caused the bleeding. This became the sex act in question, as Faber claims she told Bryant to stop but he would not, and Bryant claims he stopped after asking if he could ejaculate on her face."

I would have a hard time rooting for any rapist. If it was proven that Kobe was a rapist, it would apply. As it stands, I don't know. I don't claim any knowledge of the situation and so I give him the benefit of the doubt. And most rapists I would think do it more than once, and no other women that I heard about stepped forward. Ruben Patterson admitted to his crime. Kobe did not, and the prosecution dropped the charges.

As it stands, there is no player I can think of that would stop me from rooting for the Blazers.
