Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? I highly doubt there is much Greg can be learning from Camby by osmosis, the things Camby has to teach come from playing against him in practice and by being on the court with him in a live game situation.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Of course he can't make a difference, but is it asking too much for the guy to at least watch a fucking game once in awhile while on a paid vacation? I'm a HUGE Oden fan, btw, but that interview, and especially the comments pointing out the interview, really pissed me off about Oden right now.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? I'm one of the more optimistic Blazer fans. I'm not trying to spin anything negatively. I just think he should be here.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Well fuck then, I'm convinced. No need to watch tape, no need to be in Portland.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Repped. I agree 100%, and I LOVE Oden and think he's the key to the future. Now, flame away, everyone!
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Every now and then he really leaves me shaking my head. This is one of those times.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Strongly disagree. Oden can learn a whole lot from simply watching Camby's rotations and mannerisms on the court.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Regardless of being here, why not watch a fucking game and at least act like he gives a shit?
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? As with everyone else, all that matters is the bottom line results. If he is actually doing something wrong and ends up short-changing his rehab and his career, he'll have to deal with the fall-out. In the meantime, I'm not going to assume he's doing that. I'll leave it to the team and him to determine what he should be doing.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Osmosis would mean that Oden is just sitting on the sidelines blindfolded w/ ear plugs during practice. Are you saying that you don't learn anything from watching basketball? Camby is great at blocking shots without picking up cheap fouls. Lessons that Oden needs to learn. When Roy was injured this year he said he learned more about Miller and how to play with Miller by watching him then he did while playing with him. Even if he weren't playing Roy still learned things that lead to him making his team better when he did finally return.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? I don't know if it's too much or too little to ask. But I remember when I blew my knee out in my sophomore year of high school football; I had absolutely no interest whatsoever in watching my team play football, and my watching games wouldn't have done anything to help them or me.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? What really gets me is he says there isn't a way for him to watch the games in Indiana, and he relies on the internet and people texting him so he knows what is going on. Really?
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? He's been sitting in the lockerroom watching games because he can't bear to sit with his knee bent for long periods of time. I doubt he's learned much of anything from Camby just watching him on TV.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? High school football wasn't your career at the time, and you weren't the Greg Oden of high school football, were you? Dumb comparison. Extension time for Greg. If he doesn't care, that's telling, isn't it?
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? EVERY FUCKING GAME IS ON LEAGUE PASS!!! Jesus Christ. Does this guy not understand that we live in the 21st century? Just keep your fucking trap shut, Greg. We all want you to succeed, but being fed this bullshit is almost too much to take.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? He could stand or have the Blazers get him a Phil Jackson style throne so he can watch practices. I think there are things he can learn from practice. Nate's instructions and defensive schemes to the team are going to be different with Camby here then they have been with Joel and Greg. Just standing near Nate and hearing what he's saying to the other coaches during practice can help Oden to see things differently.
Re: Why is Oden in Indiana? Just noticed in that quote box that Greg says he does watch the games, then immediately says he can't get the games, says he relies on the internet/texts/etc, then says he'll find a way to watch the games. This guy kills me.
