Now this might be just some gamesmanship from Silva, but the dude is talking about a return to welterweight--a division he hasn't competed in for over five years. Are you listening, GSP? http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=ki-silva040710 "I’d like to test myself and I always love to take on new challenges," Silva said. "It’s not that I want to go fight Georges St. Pierre for his title. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s the reigning champion, the absolute champion, in that weight category. But I just want to test myself and see how I’d do at that weight." Silva reportedly has designs on beating the champions at welterweight and heavyweight (GSP & Lesnar) unless Machida is dethroned--in which case he'll likely move up to light heavyweight after beating Demian Maia.
Well, lets pray Machida is dethroned. I'd love to see Anderson @ LHW. HW is kind of crazy, but if anyone could make that big of a jump, he could. As for GSP, let him come to you Anderson. He'll KTFO GSP.
sweet. He KO's GSP and I'll be a fan! LOL..... Im not a huge fan of the SPIDER but I'd love to see him KO George....
when GSP execute his plan which i would assume will be his ground and pound, people will... 1. be in awe that he beat silva and finally shutup 2. continue hating because all he does is "wrestle"
There's no one interesting for him to fight at welterweight other than GSP. Hopefully they don't waste our time by giving him some warm up fights at 170 and just go straight to a fight with GSP at 170 or a catch weight. Silva at 205 full time would be a lot of fun. Would also like to see him put his money where his mouth is about fighting heavyweights.
I would like to see a Lesner/Silva matchup. One of them would have to lose (I would actually be for Silva). . . although I could see it turning into Silva running around for 5 rounds, which sounds like this last fight.
Silva would have to run for 5 minutes and try to counter Lesnar. No way he could stop those TD's. I want to see Silva vs. Mir. I bet Silva KO's Mir.
