But his teammates usually love him, so that implies that he isn't a bad one. He might get on coaches though, so that makes him questionable.Darius Miles might be the worst. Others: Zach Randolph, A. Walker, Kobe (less this year), Baron Davis, Stephon Marbury, Sam Cassell (after the 1st or 2nd year with the team).</div>Antoine Walker is not a bad locker room guy, he's a damn good one. Kobe isn't bad either he's just a great competitor. But you totally lost me with Sam Cassell. He's a GREAT locker room presence and always has been. I don't know how the hell you came up with him. Also even Baron Davis hasn't really ever caused any problems within his team at all. His only problem is injuries, but that doesn't make you a bad locker room presence. But again... Sam Cassell?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (KMart @ May 10 2006, 05:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Ya Ricky Davis was a big disruption. Danny Ainge said that after the Celtics aquired Wally from the TWolves, their morale went up and lockeroom problems down</div>He didn't specify Ricky tho. That was all Mark Blount and Marcus Banks. Ricky was not a disruption. When Ainge said the locker room is much better now, that is because Blount and Banks werent in it. They didn't want to be their and they had problems with playing time (especially Marcus, but he actually deserved the minutes, Blount didn't).

Oh I don't know. Cleveland traded Ricky because he was a bad influence on LeBron, and then in Boston the lockeroom gets better when he's traded? Certainly it wasn't all Ricky, but he was a distraction

Marcus Banks wasnt getting the minutes he deserved (look how he turned out with Minnesota, strange isn't it?). It was those 2 guys that were the locker room problems. Ricky was a leader to this team alongside Pierce and was a very good motivator and good guy. Everyone on the team loved him. He was great to the fans/media. He wanted to stay in Boston too.

I don't really think Ron Artest is bad in the locker room. He strikes me as the kind of guy who's really close with his teammates, but hates his opponents. Now if he loses it's a different story.

But, with that said, he's a hell of a player and he just wants to win. The only thing separating him from some other superstars is his attitude and history of freaking out. Kenny Smith summed it up perfectly: "You can take the kid out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the kid."

He maybe a good teammate but his outbursts and antics obviously hurt the team, it's not worth having him around with the type of sh*t he pulls.

Just thinking of him gives you a bad impression, after November 19, 2004.But, I agree that Miles is horrible, along with most of Portland's team.</div>I thought about Artest. It goes both ways. He busts his butt when he is on the court and almost never gives less than 100%. He doesn't call out his teammates (except maybe JO a little). But in general he has their backs. Artests head isn't straight, but he works with the team. He practices hard. He does make innane comments, but that is another story. The distractions he provides is bad for the locker room, but he does other things that helps too. He's kind of like Martin, IMO. A questionable locker room guy, but not horrible. As for Portland it is kind of weird. They have some really good locker room guys too - now. Steve Blake and Juan Dixon seem to be great locker room guys. Joel Pryzbilla seems good too. Randolph and Miles are by the worst, but after that they kind of rid themselves of a few others.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ May 10 2006, 03:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Antoine Walker is not a bad locker room guy, he's a damn good one. There is not question about that. Shaq and Kobe fued. Kobe and Phil fued. Plus even now he really doesn't open up to his teammates. He goes in a shell around them. That isn't a good locker room guy, especially for someone with his star caliber.Baron Davis basically tuned out his coach this year. He did stuff on his own. That isn't a good locker room guy. There is a reason he has moved around to so many teams, especially after a few years. His antics wear on his teammates and coaches. It just takes a while.

He doesn't practice hard? Really? I disagree. I have been to Celtics open practices and stuff and he definitely hustles whether it's practice or game day. Also, he has lost hella weight in the past 2 years.Cassell should be a coach when he retires. He might disagree with a couple coaches now and again because he is like a mini coach on the floor. Exactly like Avery Johnson was. Cassell gets in your face, he knows the game, and he pushes hard. That's why he and guys like Avery come off as pricks at times. But Sam is really a funny guy (ugly, but funny) and he is a leader and a half.

Going to open practice sessions and overall practice are completely different things. People have questioned his shooting quanitity in the past and he's basically told them to stay quiet. No player is a leper in the NBA. They all have friends. Pierce hasn't had the best reputation either up until this year. Again just what I've read. My bird of the feather stick together? As for Cassell, big difference between Avery Johnson and Cassell. Johnson knows when to shut up. Cassell doesn't. Again that is a big reason why he runs himself out of every team he's been with. It isn't because he can't play, because he has proven he can. But after he awhile he wears on coaches and teammates. His travel/trade history should be proof enough. People mature. Cassell and Walker seem to be much better than early in their careers. Remember when Jason Kidd was considered a locker room cancer in Dallas and a little in NJ? But he grew out of it. Cassell isn't there yet and Walker probably isn't either, but both are close. Both are older too though.Another one that had horrible locker room reputation was Nick Van Exel. Now that his career is winding down isn't a big deal, but this time with the Nuggets wasn't pretty.

And you are basing it off what you read huh? Well once I read that Pierce was going to the Blazers, Bulls, and Nuggets. Oh yea, and the Clippers. Where is he now? Boston. And if you are saying Walker doesn't go to practice then you are an idiot, he's a leader on and off the floor.

But I guess that is too complex for you.So what do you base your information off? Your homerism and love for Walker? Your personal knowledge of Sam Cassell's attitude in the locker room? I'm sure you know about that first hand because you are a genius. I'm going to assume you are a young tike who thinks there is this perfect world where basketball players you idiolize live in. Not the case my friend.Keep up the good work. :happy0144:

Did you want Fortson or Bradley starting at center? Face it Walker was our best option there. The only problem was we had three players whose best position was at pf. That's more of Cuban's fault then Walker, who didn't create any problems in Dallas. And I don't know how you got the thought he was our 2nd option unless you think it's because he had the ball in his hands. Nellie used him as a point forward, so it was expected, but it was still Dirk first, Fin second that year in scoring options. And the numbers prove it as they were our leading scorers. You just didn't like Walker in Dallas, like how you don't like Stack or Van Horn now.

Tonight Suns v Clippers game (5) is a perfect example why Cassell wears on a team. Sam makes mental mistakes at the end, but when Ewing really doesn't do anything wrong he is in his face berating him in front of his teammates. After a 2 years of that most teammates tend to resent you as a teammate.
