how do u guys feel now about my argument that we should choose lottery over getting swept by bron in four?
I've been with you the whole time. this is a good draft, so 12th pick isn't as bad as it seems most years especially considering the amount of guys that are coming out of college because of the "impending" lockout.
I think I'd rather see the Raptors go for a big, I am feeling Monroe or Aldrich, both might be out of the Raptors range though.
I could go on about the positives Aldrich could bring Toronto, and since he is from Minnesota and played in Kansas, the city wont be an issue. I don't like this comparison fully because I think he is better offensively than him, but Joel Pryzbila is a decent comparison. That being said, he has been all over board in the lottery so oh well. FWIW ESPN lottery game has Patrick Patterson at #12, which isn't bad either.
id jump all over aldrich if he is available when we are up.. he is someone that the raptors desparately needs.. S&T Bosh for whoever Lee/Chandler, Noah/Hinrich, Randolph/Biedrins.. i think monta can be had as well since they have steph curry there.. bargnani/banks for monta; its time to clean house.
I could be wrong bout this, but i remember reading somewhere that if we don't give up our pick this season (ie miss the playoffs), that we will have to give an unprotected pick next season (regardless of if its a lottery). If this is the case wouldn't it be better to give up a non lottery pick now than giving up a lottery pick next season (which is likely considering we won't have Bosh and we've seen what this group of guys can do). Or am i completely off?
ding ding ding. If this team simply went into next year knowing they were rebuilding, things might actually go according to plan for once. You should be happy if next year the team somehow magically got rid of Hedo, and traded Bosh away for some nice young talent and some picks. Hell, get rid of Calderon too and this team has space.
