I’m not going to tell you the Blazers are better without Brandon Roy. That’s absurd. But I will tell you is that they move the ball on offense better without him than with him. And they probably defend a little better, too. I believe Roy is having some injury problems that may be more serious than we’ve been told. He’s just not moving very well lately — and this was PRIOR to the knee tweak Sunday. From Jaynes
Roy hasn't been spry for a while. I could see him having some lingering issues that he might not have brought to the attention of training staff.
As strange as it sounds, I'm starting to really like our offense with Miller at the helm. The guy is incredible at getting to the hoop, drawing a foul, and making a basket. He's tough as nails, he shows up every night, and he delivers the goods. I realize he doesn't get the double teams that Roy does, but man I love his game. Roy, for all his greatness, sometimes lulls the team into watching him play rather than playing with him.
If Miller had a jumper, he wouldn't be a Blazer; he'd still be a Cavalier because they would never have let him go.
Well, Roy has been battling a back issue for a week or so ... I really don't know if he's more banged up than the team is letting on, but I wouldn't be shocked.
