It seemed like everything was coming together - the Western Conference looks wide open right now. The Lakers look more vulnerable than they have at any time since they traded for Gasol. Kobe is not Kobe right now. It looked like he was in quicksand on Sunday. And Bynum isn't going to give them much when he comes back either. They look completely beatable right now. Denver doesn't have a head coach. In a playoff series, it's all about adjustments from game to game. Adrian Dantley? I know Nate isn't Larry Brown, but clearly he has an advantage over Dantley in a 7 game series. We've matched up well with Dallas, Phoenix, SA, & Okl City all year. That leaves one team that, Utah, that felt like a bad match up for us. I was starting to think that all of the pain & suffering of losing Oden (and all of the other injuries) might end in a playoff run. I really think we had a shot at winning a series, maybe more. It's going to be hard to watch the playoffs w/o Brandon. http://wbztv.com/sports/Red.Sox.Toronto.2.588443.html If Big Popi can play for a year with a torn meniscus, can't Brandon go for a month? There can't be much of a difference in being a DH in baseball vs a SG in the NBA, right?
You're being sarcastic regarding DH vs. SG, right? One dude sits in a dugout and takes a few swings every three innings and may or may not have to trot down the baseline. The other dude plays NBA basketball for 40 minutes.
It was decent post that ended with a ridiculous last sentence. I'm fairly sure he was joking about that part. Well, I sure hope he was.
Words cannot express the confusion swirling in my head right now. "Golfers can stand on their feet with a torn meniscus in their knee... why cant a Shooting Guard!!"
I feel like we match up with Utah better than any playoff team other than maybe the Lakers. This is a much different Blazers team with Camby in the mix (and Miller the undisputed PG) than what Utah beat up on repeatedly during the season.
Are you guys being serious? You really couldn't tell I was being sarcastic? That doesn't speak very well to my credibility around here if you really thought I was saying that DH (or should I say HGH?) Big Papi has anything to do with B-Roy. Of course they aren't the same. Papi gets to come to the plate, take a few hacks, and sit down the rest of the night. I was trying to search for athletes that had played through a torn meniscus and that is all I could find. I thought it was kind of funny that the only case I could find was a freeking DH!
I don't think he'll play. Errr, at least play for very long. He MAY come out and try it for a game, but he won't make it through an entire series (and probably not a full game)
