New series started Sunday night about post Katrina New Orleans. WOW! It is a great dipction of life down there. Having been there pre and post hurricane, it is spot on! Check it out!
I haven't checked it out yet but I'm about to watch it.....here's a link if anyone is interested....... http://www.megavideo.com/?v=T3L94GP5
I never made it all the way throught he first episode (found it boring). Never been to NO so I don't think I have the appreciation for the series that others do. Some positive reviews on here about the series . . . maybe I'll try again.
The first episode was heavy with music. The parade. It was weird. But subsequent episodes educate the viewer as to the importance of the parade, but the series as a whole has a lot of music in it, which is cool by me. Treme is done by the same people that did The Wire, FWIW
I think having gone there pre and post hurricane make it a little more real for me. Ya, I had to rewind it, to make sure that was really uncle Cliffy! They also kinda cracked on Portland in the last episode. Making fun of us and our lack of rhythm!
Spoiler Alert! The Hurricane did it. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Great story, great music and interesting characters make for a very good series. In will be interesting to see where they take the story lines. Not sure if there is 4 or 5 seasons of story here.
