This win is getting us all sorts of press, like we just started playing well lately. "Hi, we're the Portland Trail Blazers. Nice to meet you."

What's interesting about this thread is there hasn't been much credit given to Nate. He came up with a terrific game plan.

That's because Mr. Sonic is not mediocre.

I wonder if it's a halo effect from the ABC game against the Lakers; it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger ("What's wrong with Roy?") which carried on into the gametime of the OKC game, during which established star Marcus Camby had a great Old Man game, and we gave him a heart-warming reward for it.

All in all a good storyline going into the playoffs. Worth following if you're a sportswriter.

This thread's still going! I thought the game was over.

The Los Angeles-based media is familiar with Camby. The national media is familiar with him, Miller, and Howard. Now that Pritchard has given in to my demands and added some experience, the media can interview players it knows.

(Notice that each experienced player is 10 times as good as Webster, Fernandez, and Bayless? Someone tell Pritchard to change his philosophy.)

And yes, McMillan should be the center of attention, but he gets no praise.

That's because a lot of people prescribe in the theory that players win games and coaches lose games. That theory takes the least amount of critical thinking, therefore is the easiest to adopt.

Nate's game plan was incredible; he out coached the COY.

Most coaches prescribe to that theory, too. It was Sparky Anderson's favorite quote. "My job is to not lose games for us."
